Noob male (BPD, cPTSD) in toxic relationship w baby on the way.

Hi there.

Things are pretty ugly, i have been isolated and gaslit and certsinly played my part in the toxicity too. Im looking for other blokes thar have been through pegnancies within a toxic relationship for support and guidance through the system. I have already contacted MISA and left a msg.

I would also appreciate help in accessing a psychologist and a psychiatrust in the brisbane area. Money is tight. Ill call the SANE 1800 tomortow but making this post for now.

I’m not a male, I’m a female and have been on the same relationship dynamic. The toxicity needs to be sorted out before baby comes along. Unfortunately for me & my babies they have grown up around it and it’s reaped ill rewards on them. It’s great you’ve contacted outside help but she also needs the outside help too

Hey @LateralLiteral, thank you for sharing your experiences with the community!

It takes real courage to reach out to your peers and to be vulnerable here on the Forums. It sounds like you are going through a pretty tough time with your relationship, and I'm so glad to hear that you have already contacted MISA .

There is actually a lot of support out there, so I am just going to add some of it here for you:

We also have the Guided Recovery program here at SANE where you can speak with a Counsellor or Peer Support Worker for 15 weeks.

This is usually only available in certain postcodes, however access is being extended to our Forums community. We understand this isn't always suitable for people so you can check out the Guided Service here - Welcome to SANE’s Guided Recovery and decide if you want to pursue it.
Whenever you are ready, you can chat to SANE’s mental health support workers who can assist with a referral, simply call 1800 187 263 or chat on the webchat at sane.org and let them know that you were referred from forums. They can help you with questions and check things like whether you have enrolled before or not. They're available 10am – 8pm Mon-Fri.
The SANE Support Line has recently been through some changes and you can read about them here: https://saneforums.org/t5/Events-and-updates/Changes-to-SANE-s-Support-Line/td-p/1654117
I encourage you to continue to reach out to your peers here on the Forums. I believe the community will have some insights to shrae with you too!
Take care
