@MissGremlin I relate to having traumatic experiences with mental health professionals. I hope you are able to find the support you need, talking to the counsellor sounds like a good. I hope your day has been okay. It’s been a bit rough with everything that is going on.

@rav3n maybe it’ll be easier once the physical side gets sorted. I haven’t booked in a shift for volunteer work this week. I’ll see how I go around it. I had an option for tomorrow but did not want to do a shift after my psych appointment. Sometimes stress can make the flashbacks harder, sleep makes a huge difference. It’s hard to sleep properly when sick

Thanks @creative_writer. My day has been all over the place but I'm having some fun chats with people on the forums which has been a good distraction.

I understand things are rough at the moment but I hope things are going better for you soon.

Sending you hugs ♥️

@MissGremlin talking to people on the forums can help a lot. It helps you feel less alone, it’s hard to find a safe space in real life.

I hope things get easier for you too 💖🫂.

What have you been up to tonight?

@creative_writer it really does help. This is the only connection i have with people so I treasure this space.

Thankyou ♥️.

Tonight I've been keeping busy doing things and chatting on the forums. I had a panic attack earlier after an incident at the shops so I'm a bit worn out after that. What about you?

Re: Eliminating or reducing chronic (everyday) flashbacks

@MissGremlin I find it hard to connect with others and I find it hard to feel safe.

Panic attacks can take a lot out of you. I hope you have been able to take it easy. I’m watching TV rn and haven’t really been up to much. It’s been hard, I’m taking it moment by moment

@creative_writer i understand that feeling all too well.

I've been trying to take it easy but for me I keep busy doing things that keep me moving so it does wear me out more at the same time. Moment by moment is how I live my life, some moments are harder than others. I'm getting ready for bed, I sit on my bed and listen to music while I'm doing my colouring until I feel tired so I can try to sleep. But I'm still more than happy to chat and i always stay connected here with people until i fall asleep, I'll be awake for a very long time yet.

@MissGremlin I also prefer to keep myself busy, but I am learning that in order to progress, I need to learn to sit with the pain in short bouts. I’ve been finding that super hard to do lately, probably because I’ve been heightened. I think finding the balance between staying busy and sitting with discomfort is hard. Last week I did a lot, it might have burnt me out. It’s been hard to do things for the past few days. Being sick doesn’t help, I was getting shivers earlier today. If my temperature had been a bit higher I would’ve been in fever zone.

Hi @AuntGlow I hope tonight has been kind to you 💖

Re: Eliminating or reducing chronic (everyday) flashbacks

@creative_writer yeah I've been trying to teach myself to slow things down and to sit with my feelings rather than always keeping busy and burning myself out. I think it's really hard to find that balance. The most important thing is to focus on a little bit of self care when things are feeling so hard, it can really make all the difference in how we feel. Being unwell definitely wouldn't be helping the situation and having temperatures sucks. I do hope you are feeling better soon ❤️
