Talking through trauma and PTSD

Can't stop crying

Can't stop crying

Feeling very lonely isolated; combo of struggle to get out of bed most mornings and crying.

Can't seem to stop crying today.

My particular neurodivergence means I feel things in greater intensity which makes feelings and emotions harder to deal with

Posting here because this stems from early life issues re feeling abandoned/not enough love/don't seem to be able to love myself. This was brought up and by bullying in a queer not for profit I founded and was pushed out of unfairly after refusing to forge the financial statements. I have a formal C-PTSD diagnosis for what that's worth

I'm not in one of the primary health areas for the 15 week program.

I have a good GP and good psychologist. We are trying all sorts of things re getting to a better place but no real breakthrough.

I just want to be able to get up in the morning quickly and have mental health so I can support myself rather than sinking down further mentally and financially.

My sister is emotionally abusive and derides my metal health and neurodivergence nd my dad's hearing is going.

Hey @SalGol65 ,

I'm so sorry to hear that things are so so tough for you right now. I hear your struggles and how much you want things to change.

Some good news is that as of 1st July, the Guided Recovery will be open to ALL residents in Australia. So that gives you around 2 weeks, and then once you apply, you will get a call within 2-3 business days.

In all of this, I really want to say thank you for reaching out here. I hear it is not easy for you at all at the moment, and it sounds like your supports are limited.

Do you live with your dad and sister?

Re: Can't stop crying

No I share with a housemate. My dad and sister live interstate; I get on ok with dad.

That's good news re the recovery program.

I wish I could do something right now - "distractions" aren't working.

Re: Can't stop crying

So it sounds like you CAN have a break from them if you need to @SalGol65 ?

What do you like doing in your spare time?

On the forums, we've recently connected on an app called Finch (if you are interested). Have a look here if you want Finch

It's a self care app

Re: Can't stop crying

My sister and dad are a factor in my whole life story but not the biggest right now. It's just my sister's lack of support feels hurtful.

I'm 59, she's 62, dad's 90 apart from hearing his health is ok.

I have friends but for some reason didn't feel like I could reach out to them tonight.

I feel inadequate that I can't support myself financially because of my mental health. I know that's not "logical" but it's how I feel.

Spare time - thing that's kept me spiritually alive for the last 2 years is pro wrestling.

I'm on Finch - it's ok - gives a little boost.

That sounds interesting @SalGol65 - pro wrestling 🙂

Has this feeling been going on for a long time now?

Re: Can't stop crying

Do you feel anything has been different in the last 12 months? @SalGol65 In terms of your situation that may have led to this feeling?

In response to: Re: Can't stop crying

Re: Can't stop crying

Yes.
Had previously shared housing with one housemate for 19 years.
Also without car.
And bullying mention above made me lose passion and purpose for the work I had been doing as the community org was about one art of my identity

Re: Can't stop crying

Sorry to hear about the bullying @SalGol65 .

Whilst you are waiting for our Guided Recovery program, what about looking into our recovery club. It's a bit different, and focuses more on groups and recovery, but maybe you can feel less alone in this? https://www.sane.org/recovery-club
