✨Sunday Intention Setting✨

✨Sunday Intention Setting✨

Hello lovely people,

I have been reflecting on some ways we can support you all through our recovery-oriented way of connecting on the forums, and thought that creating a weekly intention setting/reflection conversation could be really helpful. 🥰

Intention-setting can allow us to more mindfully focus our attention onto the things we would like to explore more of (without too much pressure!). And when we do so within community, it can help us to feel more supported as we go about exploring new habits and ideas.

Now, this isn't about showing up perfectly or reaching all of our 'goals' overnight, but rather, exploring what is possible, what we enjoy, and how we can feel more safely connected to ourselves.

So, what will this look like exactly?

1. Set your intention for the week. For example, I am going to practice allowing myself 5 minutes a day to slow down.

2. Reflect. You can do this throughout the week via your notes app, a journal, or here on the forums. *Notice what feels good, what doesn't, and why.

3. Share the following Sunday. Let us know what you were able to explore and what came up for you/if you have any questions or need some support.

Remember - there is no right or wrong! It's so fine if all you did was hold the intention in the back of your mind - change takes time. I would love you all to have fun with this and to explore things from a place of curiosity and compassion. 💛

Re: ✨Sunday Intention Setting✨

@GezzaP Just wanted to second @lonemushroom and celebrate your wins this morning, it's no small feat to get yourself up, showered and to the shops, so good on you.

Re: ✨Sunday Intention Setting✨

@lonemushroom Thank you I was pleased I could shower and wash my hair. Then I eventually dragged myself to the shop. It’s almost time to walk up to the letter box. Scrolling on facebook know it’s bad but can’t help it.

Re: ✨Sunday Intention Setting✨

@Ru-bee It was a real effort to get up showered and go to the shops. Next goal should be to give up the smokes but I just can’t. At least I’m hungry today. Normally when I’m low I struggle to eat. Not eating properly as can’t face cooking, but at least I’m eating. Scrolling on facebook know I shouldn’t but can’t help myself. Managed to walk up to the letter box. Sorry for being so miserable. Hanging in there to speak to my psychiatrist tomorrow.

It's so interesting and cool how many people are talking about outside activities! Thanks @AuntGlow. ♥️

I often have to remind myself that "fun" doesn't always have to be high energy silliness, otherwise I'm inclined to view myself as boring 😅 My intention this week is to hop on a livestream with my friend's and have a giggle at some point this week.

Hello @AuntGlow @0ddsidian thanks @AuntGlow for your enthusiasm. Really angry can’t pick myself up after the huge effort to shower, wash my hair, go to shops and letter box. Guess I should be pleased with myself, but just am not. Struggling to eat even though I’m hungry. Sorry for being so miserable. Really upset by my sister not talking to me.

Re: ✨Sunday Intention Setting✨

Firstly, a big thank you to @Jynx for inspiring this theme!! ✨

I am so glad to see you all resonating with the idea of exploring your inner child. It really is one of the most healing practices we can do for ourselves. 🥰

@Jynx Definitely get your toesies in the mud!! 😝

@RiverSeal 100% here for you getting your gamer on - what console do you have? 👾

@NightFury Honestly, it's so normal to be challenged by the idea of connecting with your inner child... it can feel really vulnerable at first. Your intention to play in a way that also connects you to your grandad is so beautiful. I am looking forward to hearing about how this goes for you (and whatever comes up is okay!) 💖

@Dimity Aw I love this song, so sweet! It somehow reminds me of my mum - thank you for sharing. 🥹

@creative_writer I get the sense a swing and some sunshine would feel so freeing - can you ask your dad if he has them to put up again? 🤩

@PeppyPatti Girls' hour!!! I love it. What did that look like? 💅

@Shaz51 That sounds soooo wholesome and cute! 🎈

@ArraDreaming Rockpool rambling sounds very fun! What kind of crab did you see?? 🦀

@Captain24 I understand this barrier very well. Perhaps you could notice when you simply enjoy things? 🥰

@The-red-centaur Oooh what kind of decorations?? I take it you're a big halloween fan then... what's your favourite scary movie? 👻

@AlwaysMyself I have always thought DnD is so cool, but have never tried it. What do you love about it most? 🐉

@ENKELI We all have an inner child!! And they are the part of us that maybe feels a little vulnerable at times, but also experiences things like wonder and joy - so whenever you're feeling playful or curious, you're probably activating your inner child! I would love to hear of any moments they come up for you, even in a small way. ☺️

@Ru-bee Awww I love this so much. 🐶

@0ddsidian A giggle with friends absolutely counts! Our inner child craves safety, lightness, connection - I think this is a lovely way to create space for them. 🙊

@tyme Totally! Sometimes simply being around kids can help us to let go and enjoy a sense of play. 🃏

@lonemushroom Thank you SO much for this reflection, I really love that connecting with your inner child has been healing for you - even reading you talk about the raspberry sherbet cake, bubbles, and Cheetah Girls, I can sense how much joy there is in these activites for you. This definitely made me smile. 😍

@GezzaP Sometimes our inner child holds a lot of joy and a lot of sadness - both are allowed to exist. Maybe you could do something to soothe them today? 💛

I am so glad that seeing your local footy team win made you happy. 🏈

Re: ✨Sunday Intention Setting✨

@AuntGlow I just can’t connect with my inner child. All I can think of is the joy of no responsibilities when I was very young. My mum had really bad bipolar worse than me and that brings back some pretty awful memories. My parents separated then divorced. Both my parents are dead now. It’s just that I miss my sister so much. I am struggling with the grief of that. She won’t talk to me. It is so cruel.

Re: ✨Sunday Intention Setting✨

@AuntGlow I don’t think we have the swings anymore. I’m sure they are swings around the park areas.

Thanks for the tag @AuntGlow

I know we all have an Inner Child. It is somewhere inside of us.

I think my problem is letting it go free. Its been awhile since I let it out.
