Functioning with ADHD

Functioning with ADHD

How do people function while living with ADHD? I’m pretty much non-functional, it’s taking a toil on my mental health, I’m stuck in constant rumination. I try to look for a reasonable solution, but I see the unreasonable

Re: Functioning with ADHD

@tyme if you are referring to the outing, it distracted me for a bit. I did take PRN yesterday, it helped me sleep, still feel pretty terrible, but it was worth a try. I figured I’ll try to get an earlier appointment due to SI and SH urges still being super present (safe).

With eating stuff, I feel super overwhelmed with it all. I’m doing what I can, but I’m not 100%. I know it’s my ideal for healing the body. Is that bad to say? I’m just doing what I can. My mind is still very disordered

What if you didn't have to follow the diet plan perfectly or exact? What if you explored shifting something small each day? I wonder if this would allow more room for slow and lasting change? @creative_writer

Prayer, skincare, and massage sound sooo lovely. What skincare products do you use at the moment? 💛

@AuntGlow [edited by moderator] The additional mood instability isn’t helping. I know I show tons of signs of anorexia, my supports will try to figure it out. This new diet plan is stressing me out because it’s trying to get me to change habits that have lasted years.

My routine for today is cleanser, aloe Vera, bakuchiol oil, moisturiser, a bit of balm on dry areas on my face, pimple cream where needed, lip serum and balm. Might need some medicated lip stuff for sore on the corner of my mouth. My hands also have bad rashes so medicated oil and then a heavy balm on top

Hi @creative_writer ,

I'm writing to let you know that we've edited your post above as it leans towards the discussion of eating disorder behaviours which is considered a guidelines breach.

Please reach out if you have any questions.

@tyme I’m trying to remember what I wrote, I’m sorry, didn’t mean to write anything too triggering. Maybe I didn’t re-read and edit my last post properly before posting it. Memory is a bit gap-py right now.

That's okay @creative_writer . We are here to support you, not to penalise you. We recognise how hard things are and how our mind can be affected sometimes.

I admire you for your resilience and strength. I know it sounds strange, but you are here because you are strong and you are a fighter.

@tyme emotions can do strange things to the human mind, including forgetting.

Just trying to survive the rest of the day. It’s hard battling multiple mental illnesses, but at one point you have to start being more honest with yourself. The battle between hyper-independence and seeking support is a tug of war

Tried reaching out to helpline, but still feel the same. I don't know what I did wrong. I have also been placed on the cancellation list if a sooner psychiatrist appointment comes up, it is currently scheduled next week.

Lack of sleep hasn't helped, it just makes me more agitated and my head feels heavy

Still struggling, doing what I can. Can’t help but feel like it’s all my fault. Maybe it’s internalised blame, not easy when one has been blamed for “not trying hard enough” in the past. I’m sure many NDs have encountered this during their life. If only it was easy
