Easily Bored
Does anyone else find they quickly bored? I guess another way of saying it is : Does anyone else need to be constantly busy? Except when sleeping of course! 🎶💕

I may be even "weirder" than you ..
in that I have only started to calm down enough to find out what this boredom thing actually is ??? Just taken me almost 60 years ..
Early in psych sessions with my ex-husband diagnosed with schizophrenia but from a normal nice well to do family ... the psych warned us that "boredom" issues had to be managed .. in ourselves and more importantly in our children who were very young at the time ...
just chiming in .. and saying .. you are AMAZING @Kurra .. you dont have to change or over question everything .. your boredom is not about .. wanting the onther person to entertain you or take responsibility for your self actions happiness ... it seems .. to me .. more about throwing yourself into life whole heartedly
and you give a lot back..

@Former-Member what you said about the 'groups' at work really resonated with me. I have avoided the staffroom for many years because of the 'juvenile' and often malicious conversations that happen. If people aren't 'bitching' about others, they are whinging about the kids. There has been a turnover of some staff over the last few years and most of these 'toxic' people no longer work there. The environment is much more pleasant and everyone now does support each other. There is still the occasional inappropriate comment made and sometimes hurtful things are said to someone in the form of 'humour' - not funny!!! I tend to isolate myself from most at work - unless it is necessary to be with them - and will spend my time doing exactly as you have done - tidying, getting things sorted for the kids, organising activities and spending time in the playground with the kids. So I am never bored at work. The down side is that I also never relax and that does take it's toll - especially on days when we are there late and I have not had a break all day.

I think you've all pointed out very valid points. @Appleblossom, I think you've hit the nail on the head. I do throw myself in to life with all my being, boots and all.
If we said we were bored we were quickly told that one or other of our parents would tell us they could find something for us to do. We rapidly learnt not to say we were bored! Yep I did the same with my children.
Today I took an elderly friend out to play. We went to a pseudo antique / retro very eclectic shop that we both enjoy as we can travel down memory lane. So many memories and so many laughs and giggles over some of the incredibly ugly things if the past. It really was a thoroughly enjoyable silly day.
We tried on some of the vintage clothing and giggled like teenagers. I found a cast iron table and chairs that I'm crossing my fingers will be there after pay day. All the pieces are in desperate need of a coat of paint so it means I can paint it Indian Red - a deep red that was very common in the 20s and 30s. Houses were frequently painted cream and Indian Red or cream and mid green.
I'm carrying on but the day cost us next to nothing - just coffee and petrol.
Engaging with life can be achieved so easily with little expense. I was desperately tired when my friend phoned this morning and really didn't want to go anywhere. I'm so glad I pushed myself because I feel really good now. 🎶💕

@Kurra That sounds like an absolutely wonderful day - sometimes it takes appreciating the smaller things in life - and finding the joy in them - to actually live!

Yes @Arjay. Sleeping is good. It's a bit cold here tonight so I've turned on the leccy blanket and it will be scrumptiously warm when I snuggle in. Dog of course has already installed herself on MY side. 🎶💕
