My life sucks

My life sucks

And I have no hope that it’ll get better, despite being told by everyone that spoken to that it would. But I know for a fact that it won’t, not even in decades time.

Re: My life sucks

@Cuddlebear they said that they'll let me know the new date of when the handyman can come by the time they get the tv bracket. I'm guessing that'll be next week.

Also, I have my second placement shift for lifeline next Saturday on the 9th August which is more than a week away from now, but I'm really not looking forward to it...and as far as i know, there's a fair amount of crisis supporters at lifeline that aren't....great (from my experience with chatting to a lifeline crisis supporter as a help seeker myself)

Re: My life sucks

@Blackcloud That’s great they are getting what’s needed and then you can have it installed. That’s a big relief and I’m glad they’re communicating with you.

With Lifeline it could help if you have the energy to write a little plan about how you will support yourself through the shift. Kind of like a safety plan so you can reach out and talk once the shift is done? I know you’ve made a big effort to resolve the things thwt the supervisor did. I’m hoping it’s a different supervisor on thwt day. Can they offer support during shift? I’m not sure how it all works. Personally I’ve not had good experience with Lifeline. For a crisis service I don’t think they have the right approach. They are nowhere near as good as the peer support here at SANE. I can totally understand why you feel worried and it’s normal especially now as you are new there and it’s not the best environment.

Re: My life sucks

@Cuddlebear I agree with the lifeline stuff you said, especially regarding to the way they approach is not good. Unfortunately, it's part of how we are trained to talk to help seekers with, on top of that all of the crisis supporters at lifeline (both phone and chat) are all volunteers. Plus, a lot of the things that we are trained to say are really generic.

Most or some of them probably haven't had prior experience related to a role that's similar to being a crisis supporter.

Oh yeah, we get different supervisors in different days depending on what days we choose our shifts at 🙂 so yeah we don't get the same supervisor/s in every shift.

Re: My life sucks

@Blackcloud It’s a real shame Lifeline isn't quality because it’s such an important support. The Government too should be providing funding to pay staff and whoever is managing the service needs to really be well skilled and experienced. It’s a huge let down to be honest.

Im glad though that there’s multiple and different supervisors and I’m really hoping you get one of the better ones for your second shift.

Re: My life sucks

Hi @Cuddlebear

I really want to go back to take some notes for this week’s content from one of the units I’m doing this trimester but I’ve been really overwhelmed with working on the essay within the past few days. On top of that I’m not really feeling the energy to wanting to learn and observe the information from the content into my head…so I guess I’m just resting for now…

Hi @Cuddlebear i don’t know what I’m gonna be doing now I’m just chilling in my bed watching YouTube. Not sure if I plan on going to the library after to study. I guess it’s just one of those days whenever I have to go to my parents house which I did this morning. Maybe I’ll have the motivation to continue on with my assignments later on, or not..

Re: My life sucks

@Blackcloud How are you this chilly afternoon? It’s ok to have a rest day if you need it. Don’t feel guilty you are always working very hard on your Uni work and you’ve had a lot on your plate. I think you do so well with study and juggling everything else. How was the shopping on Sunday?

Re: My life sucks

thank you @Cuddlebear I needed this today ❤️ the shopping on sunday was fine. I actually really like the new version of the shopping centre, it's much better than the old version in my opinion. no wonder my mum wanted me to come to chadstone along the her!

i like the weather that we have today as it is quite gloomy and these types of weathers are my favourite! i do like some sun too but I prefer when they're more gloomy as it fits the type of person I am lol, and I do enjoy it when the weather is like that in general than when it's sunny i guess.
