Something’s not right

My life sucks

My life sucks

And I have no hope that it’ll get better, despite being told by everyone that spoken to that it would. But I know for a fact that it won’t, not even in decades time.

Re: My life sucks

@Blackcloud How are you? Once you graduate you’ll hopefully get work which will help you live independently 🙂

It would be very hard for me to live in a tent. Being blind makes these things very hard. I can’t legally drive due to my blindness so don’t have a car. At the moment caravan parks are full of people who are homeless and don’t have accomodation. That’s how bad the housing crisis is. It’s why you see people who are homeless having to put a tent up at a park then getting moved on by police. I am also deaf and have an amputated foot. I really need accomodation that isnt a tent etc.

Yes I know about Lifeline. I don’t find lifeline particularly useful to be honest.

Re: My life sucks

@Cuddlebear hehe I guess we'll see about that 🙂 the job market is difficult as its always have been and i'm scared if i have to keep dealing with applying for numerous jobs and then dont get a response from any of the companies except for maybe one and then get into a job interview and get rejected from it...idk, i find it hard to stay positive when it comes to this because i feel like companies (especially management) just dont want us to have a job and would rather see us being end up homeless in the future or just still rely on centrelink payments as they dont care. that's what i'm thinking.

Ahh i see, thank you for explaining these to me ❤️ and yes i've seen a few youtube videos where the news tend to cover people that are already at a risk of being homeless living in a tent. it's really really messed up how the police likes to destroy these poor souls when all they want is to survive and have somewhere to live.. 😞 government doesn't care, and police doesn't care either..

and that's understandable about lifeline ❤️

@Blackcloud What kind of flavours did you use??

Ooh I have been thinking about laser! Any tips on how to find someone good? And how have you found the process?

I totally get that. Honestly, student support is your friend! Connect with them as much as possible and ask your tutors every question you can think of. It helped me heaps. 💛

Re: My life sucks

thank you @MissGremlin ❤️

@AuntGlow I just spread both the soy sauce and cornstarch onto the plain tofu before i start to cook them, so yeah, no necessary flavours included.

hmm what I find helpful is to basically look up laser clinics near me where at least 95% of the google reviews are 5 stars. It's even helpful when customers that give the ratings also mention how their experience has been at that clinic as well to prepare myself for it. I've found the laser process pretty good so far with no issues!! 🙂

ok, I will do that if i can.. I also have a disability adjustment plan which even makes my life when it comes to assessments easier as well.

@Blackcloud Yes it can be hard to get employment but also the Uni provides help with it and I think you are so talented and will be able to get a job. I can understand feeling worried about it though. The employment area can be hard but the area you are studying has a lot of need and you’ll find a job maybe even in a not for profit.

Yes it’s awful how people who are homeless are treated for simply sleeping in a tent. They literally have no other option. 😞

Re: My life sucks

@Blackcloud omg i had similar experiences with my language too!! i find hearing myself speaking in any language outside of english cringe tbh, maybe its cos i'm not fluent in those other languages... there's been hundreds of times where my parents and relatives and even strangers laughed at me for trying to speak my language. it definitely sucked, i even told them, how can you expect me to practice and learn my mother tongue if you all laugh every time? now some of them are nicer thankfully.

saving face is a hard one!! sorry to hear how draining it all is. we may not have a say in the culture we're born into, but we do have a say in what we follow/believe. it can be tricky when your family still believes in different things, but importantly - the choice in your hands.

also great work with the tofu, seeing an improvement in taste is defs a win!! i think the first time i tried to make tofu was a disaster haha.

Re: My life sucks

@Cuddlebear yeah, just to then once again get turned down even when you already have the qualifications to work at that certain role. they say that you're overqualified (already have enough experience and qualifications to get to where you are - even when you've already done your masters and/or your PhD) so they reject you. they also say that you dont have enough experience so they reject you. that is where i find them to be hypocrites. 🤣

i guess the former depends on the industry and field cause i sure hope the same thing (about the former) does not apply for the mental health industry when it comes to selecting candidates for the right qualifications and experiences that they have obtained.

by the way im gonna start moving to another student accomodation (cheaper rent there than the one i currently live at) next week!! also cant wait to attend university nearby that new accomodation WEEE! 😄

Re: My life sucks

@Blackcloud The community sector is much better in that way compared to private sector. When you graduate and are ready looking into the community sector for work is a good plan to have.

That’s really awesome you’ll be moving to cheaper accomodation and near your new Uni!

@Blackcloud Amazing! What else do you like to cook??

And okay, this is a good tip - thank you!

I am glad you have a plan that will support you - please keep me updated with your progress. 🥰

Re: My life sucks

@AuntGlow I also like to cook chicken, eggs, and these things that I get from woollies. Very simple, and not complicated. I would love to cook some Korean dishes/foods one day though, their foods are some of the best Asian cuisines that I’ve ever eaten!!

By the way, I was chatting with the customer service via webchat on one of their online stores, and the lady that served me kinda pissed me off so I’m feeling a little down right now. The list products she provided me with after I told her my concerns with my hair, all of them except for one were hella expensive, and I casually told her that right? And then in response she goes “I apologise, but they are great options that match with your concern hehe” something along those lines. However the “hehe” at the end was legit giving passive-aggressive like she didn’t give a single sh!% when I just casually told her that they were expensive, like….. 🤨 anyways, if I were to describe that whole interaction as a text message, I would simply describe it as a “k”.
