Something’s not right

My life sucks

My life sucks

And I have no hope that it’ll get better, despite being told by everyone that spoken to that it would. But I know for a fact that it won’t, not even in decades time.

Re: Trying to cope

hey @Blackcloud i hear you, those are such valid fears to have! the cost of living is insane, and i really REALLY hope that it goes down soon. you've survived and overcome so much so far, so i know for a fact that you are capable of getting through this. it's okay to feel exhausted and scared, sometimes i feel like that too when i think about the future. yet here we are, still here, still fighting.

i'm so glad you're here 💗

Re: Trying to cope

@rav3n idk, i don't ever have a feeling that it'll go down soon since the government doesn't care about us. everything has gone up in terms of rent, eating out meals, etc. etc. i hate it here. and its no wonder why this society has broken so many individuals that deserve better. we all do.

im scared for the future (like for myself) since i dont have anyone to rely on for support in real life but myself, also in terms of living on my own whenever I do get to either live in a social housing, or rent a place that isn't a student accomodation..........

Edit: i wish I can like move to Asia cause it seems that their cost of living is more affordable there. I even watched a YouTube video that covers the comparison between Asia and Australia in terms of their cost of living prices for certain things

Re: Trying to cope

@Blackcloud Hello friend. I’m sorry you are struggling. I agree with everyone’s responses and wanted to say that you are really valued and that things will improve.

You are doing all the right things and I agree cost of living is so hard to manage at the moment. You’ve done so well in budgeting and trying to cover essential costs despite cost of living not being able to be something that we can control.

I hope your shower was good and that you feel clean and snuggly.

Re: Trying to cope

@Cuddlebear I try…if only Australia didn’t become one of the most unliveable countries now…

I just had to pay off my Zip Pay account repayment (in monthly instalments) thing that I owe on the account (because the Zip Pay payment card is actually a credit card…so it’s been my first time knowing how using a credit card works sadly🥲)

and yes, I feel clean after showering ❤️

Re: Trying to cope

@Blackcloud exactly, i always thought as a kid 'i can't wait to build my own house'... i think i could maybe afford a cubby house from the looks of it 😆

oh yes i remember you sending a video not long ago! would you genuinely consider moving to Asia or any other country in general? honestly it's been something i've been thinking about.

you went to South Korea right, could you see yourself living there in the future?

Re: Trying to cope

@rav3n I mean, if only those countries had a welfare/government-income system like Centrelink that exists there as well… yet it doesn’t seem like they have it there…

it really depends on the kind of role that I’m gonna work and see myself as in the future. If Asian countries can acknowledge the existence of mental health professionals including peer workers (even as freelancers), then I can imagine how much that it would make life for me easier (if I did become a peer worker or whatever here in Australia…)

in terms of South Korea, I don’t necessarily see myself living there, as many people there don’t speak English. Another thing is because misogyny & anti-feminism are a huge thing there (& Japan too)

Asian countries in general don’t seem like the type of countries to be very accepting of disabilities and mental health - as those are the conditions that I have

It sounds like things are really building up for you @Blackcloud. I 100% hear you on the rise of cost-of-living front, it's so incredibly tough... what else do you need to get off your chest? Here to listen. 💛

Re: Trying to cope

@AuntGlow Just looking at my budget (that I’ve been working on for all the upcoming fortnight’s according to my fortnightly income along with it) on top of the important payments I still have to pay off (I paid off 2 different important payments today - the bond for the new student accomodation im moving into next month + zip pay repayment (monthly instalments)) before I decide to make any grocery purchases this week (if that can be possible….), I’m not too happy of where this is going considering how much savings I currently have, but at the same time I’m really trying my hardest to stay positive about what’s gonna come up in the next upcoming fortnight’s and months after my contract for this accomodation ends + my $249 monthly IBS subscription coming to an end this upcoming July. 🙏

😞😒

Re: Trying to cope

Oh, goodness... that really is so stressful. I can see you are trying very, very hard to support yourself and be responsible around your finances. That's such a win in itself. But I know what it's like to live paycheck to paycheck, and it's exhausting.

What is one thing that's working for you financially at the moment? @Blackcloud

Re: Trying to cope

@AuntGlow keeping track of the amount I have as well as listing down the things I’ll have to pay along that specific period - those are the things I do when budgeting anyway

at the moment, it’s just relying on only the meals that my mum cooks for me and gives me with on a weekly basis & (when necessary) doing grocery shopping .. I haven’t done any grocery shopping this week yet so (but I still have enough food and stuff left in the home that I can eat instead if necessary). The only things I’ve bought so far for myself this week is just bubble tea 🤷‍♀️
