It was funny, I ordered a simple ice cream cone when leaving and the guy who handed it to me saw my happy meal box and handed me my ice cream and just smiled, like "yep that's cool" kind of thing.

@Former-Member ! Ouchy! That sounds sooo painful! At least they weren't sent home because of the break. This poor couple was sent home.

@tyme Get yourself and A-Frame prefabricated kit backyard bungalow. You could put it together. You did your taps🚰
@tyme in this A-Frame that I live in? Yes there is a kitchen and bathroom.
This building isn’t up to code, because the concrete slab isn’t thick enough and it has no footings. Foots distribute the weight of the building evenly over the concrete slab.
This A-Frame is sinking on the outside edge and a crack is forming down the middle. 💥Meh

I have a parent with similar background to yours. I hear you on the narrow-minded view of heteronormativity they have, which includes wanting to get married and have kids. They do make it a big deal! It's worse because they bring their 1980s view of relationships with them to Australia, not realising that things have, for the most part, moved on since then.
But not all of our generation have moved on.
My mum's friend was going to set me up with a young man from their birth country. In the end, the young man didn't want to meet me. Guess what the reason was? I have a higher university degree than him! I have a masters and he 'only has a bachelors'! Read into that what you will.
