I am wondering if anyone has any strategies that have helped them to banish the “Not Good Enough” thoughts.

It is apparently a common problem for those with childhood trauma (likely other things as well).

I think I try pretty hard to surmount this feeling. I have completed university degrees, I have worked pretty much continuously from age 14yo. I try to participate in sport and different other activities. I volunteer.

Maybe “doing things” is not the correct strategy (although it does act as a distraction).

I still think I am not good enough.

I didn't get any rain here today either @Shaz51 which was good to get a load of washing dry and to have a roofer hopefully fix my roof before the next downpour!

I didn't get to Cradle Mountain as I didn't have time. If I am able to go back I would stay for longer for sure, esp now I'm not working.

Oh yes that always happens @NightFury the travellers see lots of things but not the locals who think well it's just there I can go any day......and don't ! Maria island was one of my highlights with the wombats wandering around with the Cape Barren Geese. I also saw some Swift Parrots, which are very rare.

@Till23 a few years back, I brought a 1984 camper van with the intention of driving around the state and seeing things and places that I haven't, but I sold it. It was five speed manual, on the tree and I couldn't drive it well. Lol.

Oh @NightFury I drive a manual car now and always have (I'm old 😂) I would have loved that. Hopefully you will get another opportunity soon

You may not be able to travel right now @NightFury but it can definitely happen again. Even if it's just a small trip for a weekend in the holidays. I'd love to come with you if not for anonymity!

@Till23 it was really outside of my comfort zone and I had the biggest meltdown when I got there. I was so stressed from travelling and trying to figure everything out and then I was scared...a foreign country all by myself...

But I went to one of the little islands. One that you had everything you needed at the resort. And after I settled...it was just beautiful. Once in a lifetime opportunity.
