I joined this forum late last year and things have been on the decline since then with my life, just general day to day living and financial matters and just my existance in living. I am a single mum of two (not by choice), one who lives with his father and I have my other child living with me. I often sit here thinking of my existance and how my life has become what it is today, I stayed in a very violent domestic marriage for close to 21 years and only stayed with my now ex husband for my kids .... as I didn't want them growing up like I did ... without a father in their life. I have so many mental issues from staying for so long that it gets me down on a daily basis and I often think "why bother staying around"?. Why does life have to be so complicated and hurtfull?
I encourage you to give the SANE Centre a call (1800 18 7263). They will be able to look into things a bit deeper for you.
If not, perhaps you could share the other organisations you have tried so we're not repeating the same ones you have been to before.
I'm really glad you found the Forums and I hope it's been helpful to connect with others.

Re: Questioning my existance
Hi @NikNik. I have tried salvation army, a community centre at Lawnton, my local parliment member, centrelink, my centrelink social worker (who has given me some of the above numbers). I also have tried family relationships australia (but didn't like the councillors there).

Re: Questioning my existance
@Mummytotwo. I'm glad our nik contacted you and gave you the SANE number. They can discuss it in further details with you - so your privacy remains intact. We give a rough description of where we live. You - Brisbane. I'm in County Victoria. That way - we won't know if we bump into anyone. Then people feel free to discuss what they need to here in anonymity. How has your day been today?

Re: Questioning my existance
Hi @utopia.
I will most likely call them tomorrow because today has just been an absolute horrible day. It turned horrible the moment I woke up. Its my birthday today and it feels like not one person even family remembered .. the only one that did was my young son. Then I had to have a meeting at my sons school with the principal because he was bullied physically yesterday at school by another student and I ended up breaking down in tears because of everything that has happened in the last week and the week before. I'm feeling like I'm going constantly backwards with my life 😢.

Re: Questioning my existance
@Mummytotwo. Firstly HAPPY BIRTHDAY! !!! How hard to worry about your son being bullied. There's the way to break a mothers heart. We want so much to protect our kids. So I understand what a double whammy you have been hit with. What did the school say? Did you find the Principal helpful? Is your boy in primary school?

Re: Questioning my existance
Thankyou @utopia😊. The principal gave the bully a lunchtime detention(not sufficent enough in my books concidering my son was punched in the chest and winded badly and then he fell back and landed on concrete) My son is in high school (grade 😎 and he also suffers from MI too from him seeing what his father did to me for his 13 years of his life. I try my hardest to protect him as he is my last baby after suffering from 5 miscarriages (from 16 - 19 weeks). So the bond between him and I is strong because of this. I know I can't protect him all day everyday esp at school, but I still expect the school too in some way.

Re: Questioning my existance
@Mummytotwo. So hard. Yes we want to protect them always. But we can't physically be there. Does your son has friends at school? Maybe that's something the Principal can help with. Locating likely friends that will 'click' with your son. Tonight though - you may want to just do something nice for yourself. A bubble bath. Oaint your toe nails. When it's dark - sit outside and watch the stars. Have a giggle with your son when he goes to bed. Tickling still works a bit at that age. Was wonderful that he remembered your birthday. Sounds like you are raising him well.

Re: Questioning my existance
@utopia, he does have friends at school but it seems at the moment all the kids do at school is fight .. is like the new year pecking order in high school. He will be going to bed soon and I really need to do something nice for myself for once as I always seem to do nice things for everyone else and always forget about myself 😞. The principal also said today that she will get the school teachers and playground duty teachers to keep more of an eye on him. I'm glad he remembered too, just knowing that was special for me.
