(I'm not sure what area of the forum this is being posted in, sorry...hopefully "Social" space?)

@TAB @Meowmy @Bunniekins @Bill16 @Glisten @Oaktree @Appleblossom @Judi9877 @Sophia1 @Shaz51 @Jacques @Gibbs @MissGremlin and all. So hard to make a complete list.

Below is my latest poem. I don't know how I feel about it any more. But time to release it into the wild and move on.

Hope it connects for you; in part at least...

Beyond The Pale

With only one at our disposal
With only one to keep us safe
Surely sense must guide us down
The path toward harmony

As one with our environment
As one with our humanity
What use is profit if we destroy
That which sustains our existence?

Conditioned air inflates our lungs
Temperature is on our whim
Outside, nature is less inclined
To yield to such delusions

Insufficient satisfaction
Stimulates disparity
Forever chasing the impossible
Will we never awaken?

To tolerate our slumber
Is to justify the loss
Of the sheer abundance
Entrusted to our care

Is an epic transformation
Possible at this late stage?
Or are we rather self-condemned
To pale into insignificance?

Re: Newest poem

I have Flemish ancestry, my maternal granother was part French and part Flemish from Belgium. Basically she was Walloon, and grew up in Wallony Belgium. She could make the best Brussels sprouts you could ever get anywhere, and they were delicious. There's a way to cook them so they taste good, and it's not smothering them with herbs and spices.
