Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

@MissGremlin @Captain24 @NightFury

The last couple weeks I’ve been working on reducing amount of things I’ve got in my garage and given it good tidy up. Before I started I only had enough floor space for a narrow walkway from roller door to door into end of passage.

have moved, sorted and organised almost everything and have about half the garage floor accessible.

I’ve also been trying to do similar with front room which has my printer, Lego, jigsaws, jigsaw table plus inbuilt wardrobe. Plus full size cradle with 2 dolls in it. In sort, it was a junk room when I started.

doing all this I’ve not stayed on top of the forums.

tomorrow a neighbour is (supposed to) coming to my place to help mark and cut to size some thin mdf sheets I’ve got so can put them on chrome shelving units to stop things falling through plus give them solid base to stand on.

today to help clear my head I have put all figures from my Lego buildings into display cases.

Friday midday I’ve got person coming from a local blind making firm to do free measure and quote for alfresco blinds.

this weekend I want to allocated to me and my cats.

possibly wobt be back on the forums until early next week.

hoping this weekend and next couple of days are kind to each of you

Re: Battles

@Flutterbug9 wow, it sounds like you've got so much done with your garage, well done sweet ☺️.

Getting your front room sorted sounds like it's going well aswell. You say about having a cradle in there with dolls in it, are they reborn dolls? Sorry just curious and you don't have to answer if you don't want to.

I hope the neighbour comes tomorrow to help with the mdf sheets.

Putting the Lego figures into display cases sounds like a good way to clear your head. I've got so many of the mini figures that I've collected over the years from the series that they bring out regularly but I don't have them on display they are just packed away in containers.

I hope you have a lovely weekend with your cats sweetheart. Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤️

Re: Battles

Thanks @MissGremlin

One doll is first baby doll I was given.
myself and 2 cousins each given one for Christmas one year. The girls are 6 and 7 years older than me, I’m guessing I was fairly young. Hair of each doll had been hand painted by one of our aunts to match our own hair colour.

other doll is first shop made and bought doll my mums youngest sister was given after end of WW2 when she was about 12yo. Composite type doll that I inherited when I was about 12yo

@NightFury glad it's done, how are you feeling after it sweet?

Re: Battles

Frustrated @MissGremlin I'm feeling frustrated.

It was with my old psychologist. I forgot that I made an appointment before Christmas to see her in January. I got a reminder this morning and then it was too late to cancel it. But she keeps reinforcing the fact that she doesn't really know what to do to support me. Not that she's saying it...but we're also not working on strategies or anything to move forward. She asked me about my diagnosis, and I told her and we still didn't even start on working towards strategies to help me. She ended the conversation 20 minutes earlier than the time allocated with a "I know you're starting a new job, and if you feel like the anxiety around that gets to much, book in and we'll talk about it." I was like...that feels like a little thing at the moment, so why is that the focus? Is it because she doesn't know how to help me on a deeper, more specialised level?

Re: Battles

@NightFury oh sweet I can hear how that would be so frustrating. I'm definitely hearing that she's not really the right fit for you especially if she's not even trying to work on any strategies to help you. Do you have to make any more appointments with her or is it now a matter of finding another one that is hopefully a better fit?

Re: Battles

After every appointment with her, I always feel the same. @MissGremlin it's disappointing.

I don't have to make any more appointments with her, but I can if I want/need. I don't have any other supports yet though.

I need to find another psychologist that's a better fit for me.

Re: Battles

@NightFury I'm sorry to hear that sweet, it's really not how it's supposed to be when you are trying to get support.

I'm really hoping you can find another psychologist soon and the they are a better fix for you.
