Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@NightFury what's the appointment for sweet and what's worrying you about it?

Re: Battles

It's a skin check. @MissGremlin my GP noticed I hadn't had one in a very long time and I've had melanoma removed in the past.

My skin is checked from head to toe looking for any moles that are of concern.

I'm most concerned about my SH scars and the doctor seeing them and I'm concerned that they're going to find something and I'm going to have to go through it all again.

Re: Battles

@NightFury oh yes now I remember, sorry sweet.

I hear you sweet and I can only imagine how scary it is the thought of them finding something. I also understand how hard it is to be vulnerable and having our scars exposed. Just remember that your scars do not define who you are, they are battle wounds, times when we had to be stronger than most people ever have to. I'll be around all day and you can message me whenever you need to, this appointment is very important sweet. Fingers crossed nothing shows up but if anything does then its better to catch it earlier than later.

Sending you lots of hugs sweet, I know you are strong and you can get through the appointment tomorrow ❤️

Re: Battles

I know it's important @MissGremlin

But I hate having to do it. I started off having them every six months, then after a couple of years that got drawn out to yearly. But, I stopped going to them because I was living in fear. I've had one melanoma and probably upwards of 10 moles removed and tested. I've had stitches that many times and scans and blood tests and I didn't want to do it any more, or to be afraid of it any more.

And they made me feel so physically exposed and vulnerable.

And now, to add to that...I have SH scars.

Re: Battles

@NightFury oh sweetheart, I hear you. I'm not going to say that I know what it's like cos I've never had to go through it so I can only imagine how hard it is.

What is something that could help make things feel a little more bearable tomorrow sweet? Could you maybe go to the appointment and then treat yourself to something after it for being so brave and going through with it?

Re: Battles

I don't know @MissGremlin I feel like tomorrow's going to be hard for me.

I have to pick my niece up from day care after my appointment, so maybe something fun with her?

Re: Battles

@NightFury i have no doubt that it's going to be hard, but I have every faith in you that you can and will get through it and I'll be here with you the whole time ❤️.

Doing something with your niece after sounds like a perfect idea, maybe getting a yummy treat or having a play at a park if the weather is ok for it.

Re: Battles

Thank you @MissGremlin

Maybe both of those options sound like fun, if the weather is nice.

The sleep meds are making me feel fuzzy so, I'm going to head to bed and try and get some sleep. Good night, Dreamy.
