Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@Flutterbug9 yes we posted very close together.

All my psychologist appointments that I had a few years ago were all done over the phone cos of my anxiety, I never once met her in person. So I'm hoping they can work something out so I can still get support.

...she said they can't do over the phone appointments. I checked this with the service before I got my doctor to do a referral, I told them I struggle with my anxiety and I don't cope with going into places to talk and they said that was fine and that i could talk over the phone with them rather than going in there. I feel so let down again 😞.

Oh, @MissGremlin that is very very disappointing of them. 😢 I am glad to also read though that she will at least talk to the supervisor about it -- I really hope they make an exception for you. Surely they work with people with anxiety (social, agoraphobia, etc) and can accommodate this?? I cannot believe you would be the "first" to need this!

If they come back and say there is no other option, perhaps your GP could ring them directly and negotiate?

I hope tomorrow's "something to look forward to" pans out well. 😊

Take care, and sleep well tonight I hope for you all. @MissGremlin @Flutterbug9 @NightFury @Captain24 (or, after your work shift at least lol!)

Re: Battles

@AlwaysMyself it's very frustrating especially cos I checked with them first. I've also just spoken to a service that I talk to regularly and they have found a service that they can refer me to that is flexible with over the phone support but it's only short term. But it's better than nothing, especially at the moment.

I'm not sure if my gp could and if it would change anything but it's definitely something to consider.

I'm really hoping it does work out tomorrow, time will tell ☺️.

How are you going sweet?

Re: Battles

Fingers crossed for you @MissGremlin . Short term support may be better something than nothing? Or even just "extra" support?

I'm home waiting for the call to let me know the people coming to chat/assess (?) me will come soon (so i know to put dogs away). Not really sure what to expect from them. They said they would come "in the morning", but its nearly 12noon. I guess i still the "morning shift" for them and perhaps another took longer than expected.

I dislike waiting around as i dont feel i can go and do anything. I would have gone back to bed earlier if i'd known they wouldnt be until this late. Or i could have gone to shops for things i need to buy today/tomrrow.

I did a little of my paint by number, but need a break from it, so im on my phone here now. But if i spend too long on my phone i will get sleepy from the screen.

Re: Battles

Hello @AlwaysMyself my sweet, yes any support is better than nothing, especially at the moment.

I'm really hoping they come soon for you and that they are supportive. I'm the same and don't like waiting around, like when someone says they'll come between 1-4pm it's frustrating.

I'm about to do some painting myself cos I need a distraction for a while.

How are to feeling today sweet?

Re: Battles

Wjat type of painting are you considering doing @MissGremlin ? 😊

I'm so far avoiding my own brain and thoughts. But now i have finished responding to posts overnight that will start to be harder.

I can tell i am easily irritated by the dogs barking; thankfully they have been quiet the past hour or so but every now and then one of them pipes up again. Earlier this morning was so much barking (people going past? Plus the rubbish trucks...)

Might lay down for a bit on the couch again. Bored of tv whilst i was doing the painting. Eyes tired now too from the screen and focusing on painting and tv before too.

Part of me thinks "maybe go and do a little bit of clean up or sorting" - even just 5 minutes. But i really have no motivation to. Right now i dont care that its all messy or in boxes. And i dont want to feel tired which i will feel after i do even 5 minutes of something physical.

..maybe ill go lay next to my grumpy male dog who has just started growling at cars going up the neighbours drive...

Re: Battles

@AlwaysMyself I'm going to start the one with the bear on it ☺️. Just working on what colours I want to use.

I hear you sweet, I'm the same, it's good catching up on posts but then once it's done it's sort of like well now what do I do with myself.

Oh I understand that irritation, I get the same way with noises. Thankfully Casper very rarely barks but it's other noises that get to me, like the neighbours kid jumping on the trampoline and the squeak of the springs cos it's just constant and regular with every jump.

Laying down sounds like a good plan, even if you can just rest for a while.

I'm with you with the no motivation, I was meant to have an inspection on the 8th but I emailed to cancel it cos I just can't, not with the tooth pain and the way my mental health is at the moment. I did try to do a bit of cleaning this morning but I started getting overwhelmed with not knowing where to put things. So I sat down and put a movie on instead and now I'm going to do some painting.

Haha oh your grumpy male dog, he's just teaching those cars a lesson ☺️.

Sitting with you sweet, sending you hugs ❤️

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin typical dog i have - i get up to go to lay down on the mat with him, and because i got up he did also and went to the back door to go out. So i let him out and he just wanted to lay in the sun. So i let him for a bit and lay down anyway. Then realised i can make use of his sunbathing (which i try to not let him do because he has an eye condition that worsens with UV) - i can brush him! Either he stays sunbaking and is brushed, or he gets up because he doesnt want to be brushed and thus no longer sunbakes.

Of course the other 2 dogs heard me in the "dog box" getting stuff so they came up, and my mums dog also wanted to join me outside. But i cant brush my boy with my mums dog there because he might snap at him when he is grumpy if i pull a hair accidently. So i figured, since her dog also does not like being brushed, when it comes near - it gets brushed. When it goes, my dog gets brushed.

...her dog hung about for 1 min before settling in the sun out of reach lol. My dog stayed for another 5min before getting up and opting for indoors without brushing lol.

But the upside, part of my male dog (the super fluffy butt one) is now partly groomed (deshedding).

Re: Battles

@AlwaysMyself haha oh this sounds like such an adventure, it put a smile on my face while reading it ☺️. I'm glad you got to brush Mr fluffy butt a bit 😂

Casper doesn't sit still long enough to be brushed 😂.
