Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

Not sure what I will do today @Cuddlebear ; i am avoiding the city today because it will be too crowded with people gathering for the fireworks tonight. I have so far spent an hour or two doing a paint-by-number (my father was gifted one, but doesnt like them - so i have acquired it since he did not get me anything for xmas).

Battling away a few darker thoughts today. Trying to remind myself that i have a year off to try to change things and that i don't need to feel pressured from life.

How are you today @Cuddlebear @MissGremlin @NightFury @Appleblossom @Shaz51 ?

I hope last night was OK, I hope you all have survived.

I am glad to hear it is a little cooler in Melb/Vic today. Mid-20's today where i am which is ok with me.

@AlwaysMyself it's blown me away. Never underestimate the power of your actions towards a stranger, you don't know what they are going through and how much a simple act of kindness could mean to them. ❤️

Re: Battles

Wow @MissGremlin what a beautiful thing to have happen to you. That's really special and what an amazing reminder that you are cared about, that you have an impact on those around you.

I've woken up feeling really reflective and thinky and I needed a change of scenery, so I'm sitting in a cafe having a coffee and journalling. I asked a friend if they wanted to join me for a coffee and a chat, but they are away with their family.

When I leave here, I might pop into a craft shop and have a looksie.

I am on my own this New Year and will be having a normal, regular night. @AlwaysMyself @Cuddlebear

Re: Battles

@NightFury it really has meant so much to me, especially today.

Sitting in a Cafe, having a coffee and journalling sounds lovely. I'm sorry your friend couldn't join you today, but I hope you enjoy it still.

Popping in to the craft shop sounds fun, maybe you'll find some goodies ☺️.

I'm on my own for new years aswell, so I'm happy to keep you company here if you'd like ❤️.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin I love that the snake wraps around your wrist. What a beautiful image. I guess I was pretty on the edge of society when I was working in the zoo, and somehow it was easier to emotionally attach to some of the animals than the people. Especially that the snake often gets a bad rap, so I could relate to them being outsiders.

That was a superb response from the manager who paid for your shopping and gave you flowers. IMMENSE! Beautiful and shows the value of little surprises when people actually do notice and make a good act. GLAD for YOU!

I appreciate my local supermaket and many of the sales assistants know me and we get along. I call it my supermaket therapy. So many decades of food access being difficult, I appreciate being able to buy what we needs, and do it with good will with humans who are all different but generous in their own way.

We will be quiet at home tonight. Going to physio and to get some food.

@NightFury @Shaz51 @AlwaysMyself @Flutterbug9 Sending hugs all.

Re: Battles

Hello @Cuddlebear my sweet, i woke up feeling really heavy, it was a rough night with nightmares and one of the worst panic attacks I've ever had but I reached out to someone who helped to calm me down in that moment.

My shopping trip has really helped to lighten things at the moment and I'm trying to cling onto that to get me through today/tonight. (I'm safe for the moment).

Her name is Zola ☺️.

How are you feeling today my beautiful friend?
