Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@NightFury it makes perfect sense though sweet, especially with the way our brains work. I'm the same and if I can't for some reason do a specific task it drives me crazy regardless of the reason.

Totally understand the anxiety brain and not being able to let things go. I'm still trying to learn to do that myself. Looking up about medications and the dangers of some of them can be really hard, but just try to remember that sometimes the serious things that happen only happen to a minority of people. So yes there's always a risk but it's usually an extremely low one.

I'm going to have an iced coffee i reckon.

Re: Battles

Thank you for saying that @MissGremlin and trying to argue against my anxious brain. You're right, there's a low risk. I just need to remind myself of that.

An ice coffee sounds good.

Hey @Shaz51 coffee time!

Re: Battles

@NightFury as they say our brains are our own worst enemy at times. There's no quick and easy fix, it takes time to retrain our brains and even then things will still sneak in from time to time. Be gentle with your wonderful self, you are truly doing amazing despite everything my sweet ❤️.

I made an iced coffee and I grabbed a snack now I'm back in my bed. Being anywhere else right now feels too overwhelming.

Re: Battles

It sounds all warm and snuggly and safe in bed @MissGremlin it's okay if you need to be in there. Is Casper curled up there with you?

Re: Battles

@NightFuryi was going to say that bed feels safe but those words just seemed to trigger some emotions when I went to type it. But I guess bed feels better than other parts of the home, it's calm and quiet in here at the moment. Casper was here but he got up to go venturing around the house, I'm sure he'll be back soon.

Re: Battles

I'm sorry if I triggered your emotions @MissGremlin it wasn't my intention.

Re: Battles

@NightFury no no, it wasn't you at all my sweet. It was just that I stopped to think cos bed is often where I struggle so much with sleep and having nightmares and waking up having panic attacks. So while it's a safe space in a sense and I do find comfort in being in bed there's always those other things aswell. But it wasn't you that triggered it, just my brain.

How's Luna doing?

Re: Battles

I get it. I understand.

Luna has slept for moat of the day @MissGremlin she's currently asleep on the floor at thr base of the couch, not too far from where I'm sitting.

She's been such a good girl this week. I've been out and she's been home by herself three nights this week and no mess.
