Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@tyme haha honestly there's one's that really push my limits but the satisfaction once you complete a hard one makes it all worth it.

I've started a new one now.

Re: Battles

@NightFury i know the feeling!! one of my besties moved overseas for her studies, and it was really tough at the start but we worked it out, and we're still in touch regularly. i've got a good feeling that you'll be able to stay in touch with your friend too. video calls aren't necessarily the same as face-to-face... but they're still pretty good!

that's so fair! i won't dive into it then. omg 3hrs!! hope the appointment doesn't feel too long and draining! gosh that does sound painful, but i guess its also necessary to keep 'em healthy hey. have you had dreadlocks for long?

Re: Battles

@rav3n I hope we will be able to stay in touch. It's important to me.

I've had my dreads for two years-ish. I hate my hair. It's curly and uncontrollable and it was actually difficult for me...trigger wise. I would cut it off, dye it, straighten it...and eventually I decided to take a stand and get some control back. I wanted something different, something kind of defining as a bit of a stand and a bit of a rebellious streak not to conform to other people's expectations. So, I had temporary dreads installed and hated them...they itched, but I still decided to go ahead and get my hair dreaded. I also had woollen extensions put in of all kinds of different shades of blue and purple.

But last year...it came time for me to just be me...and strip it back. I had the extensions removed so now they're just my hair.

I have maintenance done on them once every three months. I'm determined to have tidy, well looked after dreads. And my scalp needs that too because of my psoriasis.

Hair is annoying in my eyes @NightFury ... too much work.

Re: Battles

@tymeI agree but my dreads make hair easy....

Apart from my three monthly, three hourly painful maintenance/tightening appointment and washing them once a week...I don't have to do anything else with them.

Re: Battles

@NightFury @tyme this is why at times i get so tempted to shave my head. I hate my hair, it's just frizzy and uncontrollable. Everyday I just put it in a pony cos I can't do anything else with it. It looks great straightened but it's so much effort cos it's so thick and long. I don't have time or patience to look after it.

Re: Battles

I'm a bit conservative @MissGremlin but I think if I had my own way and choice, I'd shave it... I hate dealing with hair.
