Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin my weekend plans are all scattered in my head. I feel overwhelmed by all the things I have to get done this weekend.

I am trying to stick to self-care Saturdays and I'm going to go play lawn bowls. But I also have to....

Catch up on study because I haven't done this week's course stuff and I have my final assignment due next weekend...

And write school reports because they're due on Monday evening.

I also have to mow my lawn and tidy my house...

There's a lot happening this weekend. What about you?

Re: Battles

@NightFury oh it sounds very busy. Just try to take it one step at a time and take breaks in between for self care ♥️.

I don't have any plans. I don't make plans cos i never know if I'm going to be here from one day to the next. It's a horrible way to live but that's the way it's been for a while now. Trying to work out a way to change it, would be nice to be able to see a future, to have things to look forward to.

Re: Battles

I really hope you can change that for yourself @MissGremlin

I was going to launch into a big share about how I'm tired of having to fight against myself to be able to do things and get things done...but I won't...I think it'll be a sore point.

I have to figure out strategies to manage this feeling of overwhelm and lack of motivation.

Re: Battles

Thanks @NightFury.

Managing the feeling of overwhelm and lack of motivation isn't an easy task. When there's so much that needs to be done at once it's incredibly overwhelming and then comes the lack of motivation or not knowing where to start.

As far as strategies go, I really do think it's a matter of just taking on one task at a time and focusing on that. Rather than thinking I have to do this, this and this just break it down into smaller manageable parts and one at a time.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin one at a time. I think I can work with constantly reminding myself of that - just do one at a time.

Re: Battles

@NightFury its not easy to do and its not going to happen overnight but as they say practice makes perfect 😊

Thanks @MissGremlin

Well the SH urges haven't really faded, but I'll reach out if I need to. It's past midnight and I'm going to try and get some more sleep.

I hope you find some rest at some point tonight...or should I say, this morning.
