Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin I slept for a few hours.

I woke up super anxious - I feel sick, I feel dizzy, my chest feels heavy, I feel as if I have to remind myself to take deep breaths. I've done a meditation and have done some deep breathing exercises.

I'm glad we're on excursion today because we're not going to get a chance to stop. Busy busy day.

Re: Battles

@NightFury i understand the feelings all too well. I hope the excursion serves as a good distraction for you today. I'll be thinking of you and i will check in with you later ❤️

@RiverSeal @AuntGlow @rav3n @Ru-bee I know it's a bit early still but I have my counsellor ringing at 9.30 this morning and I'm feeling very anxious and overwhelmed. Really just needing some company and to not feel so alone right now.

Re: Battles

Hey @MissGremlin I'm a bit late to seeing this, lots to catch up on this morning after nearly a week away from forums! How was the session?

Re: Battles

@Ru-bee i just finished and I'm very worked up. Went into quite a bit of trauma and then she had to leave suddenly.

Oh that's hard @MissGremlin

I saw in another thread that you've got the doctor's soon too? Is there anything that might help to ground you a bit for now?

Re: Battles

@Ru-bee yeah I've got a doctors appointment at 12.30 today. I tried to ground myself but ended up SH instead (I'm safe don't worry). Just have to try and get through until my doctors appointment now. I've got my TV show on and I'm playing games on my phone aswell.

Re: Battles

Sounds like you were left feeling pretty distressed after your session @MissGremlin Maybe that's something you can mention to your counsellor next time to make sure that they leave enough time at the end of the session to do some grounding together and make sure that you're feeling okay especially if you've been talking about heavy topics like trauma

Re: Battles

@Ru-bee yeah I'll try to mention it. Was deep into talking about a traumatic event when she suddenly said 'well I've got someone in the waiting room so I better go, thanks for sharing with me' and that was pretty much the end of the phone call. Feeling all sorts of things at the moment and I don't like it. My head feels like it's going to explode cos there's so many things racing through it, I'm having flashbacks cos of the things we talked about. I've caught up with all my games on my phone so now I'm not sure what to do. Trying to get through to lifeline but I've already been waiting for a bit. I did my dishes, played with Casper, splashed some cold water on my face and had a drink of cordial. But I'm still having a hard time.

Re: Battles

Good on you for pulling out all those tools as you're needing them @MissGremlin, though I know it's frustrating when they don't work. I hope that you've been able to get through to LL and that staying connected on here is helping
