Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin it's one of those jobs that I'm struggling to do. I don't really know why, but it's in the too hard basket. I just walk past it and ignore it, now.

Re: Battles

@NightFury that's fair enough. Other things come first at the moment.

I've just been left without support once again so I'm frustrated. Do services not know how much strength it takes to reach out in a very vulnerable moment and how much of an impact their words and actions have in those moments?

Don't worry I'm safe i guess.

Re: Battles

I don't know how to answer that @MissGremlin, I'm sorry. I've only "attempted" to contact a service before my run and hide instinct kicked in and I wigged out. I didn't get far, so I don't have experience to share.

Re: Battles

@NightFury its ok, it was more just a vent, didn't expect an answer as such.

I hope your day goes ok sweet. If you need to chat or need anything throughout the day you are welcome to tag me. I'm just going to be lingering in the background whilst I continue to fight to get through the day.

Re: Battles

Hey @MissGremlin, how are you doing this morning? I'm just having my first coffee and getting set up for the day. Mostly rain here atm, which I like when it's cold and dreary! RiverSeal 🙂

Re: Battles

Morning @RiverSeal, I'm really having a hard time right now. I'm trying hard to lean on supports and ride this through but it's sort of becoming a bit much at times.

I hope you enjoy your coffee and the nice rainy day. I just made myself an iced coffee even though it's freezing cold at the moment.

Re: Battles

When I have been overwhelmed with my MH in the past, like in 2018, when I was studying and couldn't cope with where my life was at. I learned to make a list of my options, or at least my father helped me make that list. How do you feel about making a list of things that you can do for your MH right now, then making a decision about how to act? In a recovery-oriented way, of course, so things that may be beneficial for you @MissGremlin! RiverSeal ❤️

Re: Battles

@RiverSeal i know i need to do this and i also need to have a proper safety plan but I'm not sure if I have the capacity for it right now. I've had 2 hours of very broken sleep, I just want to rest but my brain won't let me. I've basically spent all night and this morning talking to services for support. I'm really doing the best I can at the moment and even here I'm trying to keep that recovery focused approach as much as I can. I just really feel so broken at the moment and everything I'm trying to do to doesn't feel like it's working. Am I doing something wrong or do I keep trying to do what I'm doing and maybe it will work? Sorry I'm just feeling so lost as to what to do at the moment.

I hope this is ok, like I said I'm trying really hard to stick to the guidelines and posting things with that recovery focus in mind.
