Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@Blackcloud sorry I did see it but wasn't in a position to reply but was going to say that I won't be able to say anything as it's not permitted to discuss specific failures of services as it can be detrimental to those who need to seek support hearing about bad experiences.

Please don't apologise, it's all good. I hope you are going ok my sweet ❤️

All good @NightFury. No need to apologise, was just bad timing.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin I actually don't know how I'm feeling. Ambivalent maybe. Don't worry about me, focus on taking care of you. Can I do anything to help you?

Re: Battles

Thanks @AuntGlow i really don't feel it. I don't know what it is about today but things are just different and I don't like it. How can I calm myself down and settle these thoughts, even just a bit?

I still can't tackle those big messages, I've tried but it's just too much to read through. I just feel so bad for not being able to reply to them.

Re: Battles

Hey @MissGremlin ,

When using the forums, supporting people, receiving support etc, it's really important to set boundaries.

It's TOTALLY OKAY if you don't respond to someone. It is not because you are being rude, but the nature of the forums means we don't HAVE to have support from others.

Even for myself, there are times I have to step away and not respond to someone until and unless I am ready and able to.

This is part of healthy boundary setting.

If you feel you'd like support with this, we can absolutely support you with it.

Re: Battles

Hi @tyme i understand this. I do step back and only reply when and if I can.

It just doesn't stop me feeling any less guilty about it, but that's just me.

Re: Battles

It sounds like you care deeply and you want to help others @MissGremlin , but remember, you need to keep well yourself, first and foremost.

In the past, there are times I've lost sleep over what happens on the forums. It still happens sometimes, but not as much. But yes... it's about setting those boundaries.
