@MissGremlin Urgh. I would love to support your post, but it won't let me. You are very welcome.
I'm kind of fluctuating a little today. I'm working on my assignment and it feels huge at the moment, huge and long-winded and my brain is slowly drifting into brain fog mode. I've been at it for a couple of hours now and not even half way through. I woke up feeling really icky, and battling my thoughts. I managed to do some meditation, some breathing and some self-care and now my focus is on getting this assignment written and done. It's pushed them to the background so, okay for now.
You know...I just want to say, I saw your posts yesterday and that's something that comes up for me sometimes too - not really the should I stay or should I go debate, but frustration and feeling like a burden, feeling like...I need to reach out, I want to reach out, but people are busy and I'm just being overly needy. I can relate to it. You're not alone there.
My initial response, I've noted is to go into....like...withdraw mode and my brain kind of goes, "I'm needy, I'm a burden and I'm too much, so I'm just gonna slink away with my tail between my legs and deal with my own thoughts of how alone I feel." But once that's passed, I start to be able to think more clearly and have a different perspective on things. We just have to somehow get passed that initial response, I think it's that hurt part in us, the part of us that learnt it was better to be silent about how we feel because when we did reach out, our needs weren't met and it hurt, so it became a protective instinct.
Coming up against it on the forums are kind of teaching me to go - I see you, I feel you and I'm listening. I learn to sit with it, acknowledge it, let it say what it needs to say and then take a step towards meeting its needs. It's very much a work in progress and it comes up regularly for me, so I'm far from an expert at it though.
