Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 i have my cuppa and I even made some brown sugar and cinnamon oats, I don't usually eat breakfast.

It was really nice, don't often get to see her 2 days in a row. The little one is growing up so fast, 6 months old and full of smiles and happily babbles away ☺️.

Re: Battles

Those oats sound nice! I've just toasted some banana bread and I'm having a coffee 😊

It sounds like you're being really thoughtful about what you need this morning. Sometimes changing things up a little can help break those routines we've fallen into.

I'm glad you got to see them, @MissGremlin . They really do grow up so fast! I love seeing their little personalities start to shine through 😊

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 that sounds yummy 😋.

Well i tried, unfortunately my anxiety got the better of me. Feeling like a failure now 😞.

Yes, before you know it they're moody teenagers that drive you crazy 😂.

Re: Battles

You're not a failure @MissGremlin, not even close 💛

You gave it a go, and that matters. Trying something different can be really hard, especially when anxiety is involved. It makes sense that it brought up some uncomfortable feelings for you.

Be gentle with yourself. Just because it didn't go the way you'd hoped today doesn't take away from the effort you made.

And yep, pretty much I was definitely a moody teenager 🤣

Re: Battles

Thankyou @Nala2022 ❤️. I tried so hard to change things last night aswell but everything got too much so I gave in. When the ambulance came I talked to them about it and they tried to encourage me to stop as it would be doing damage. It just feels so hard to break the routine at the moment but I'll keep trying.

Haha I think we all went through the moody teenage phase, I had to grow up pretty quickly though so was fairly mature for my age.

Re: Battles

You're welcome @MissGremlin 💛

It sounds like you've been trying really hard, both last night and this morning, and I can hear how difficult it's been for you.

Changing long-standing routines and habits can take time, especially when they're tied to anxiety and feeling overwhelmed. Try not to measure yourself by one difficult night or one difficult morning.

I think it's a real strength that you're still wanting to keep trying, even though it's been so hard.

And yes, I think most of us had our moody teenager moments 😆 It sounds like you had a lot of responsibility at a young age though

@Nala2022 it's funny that this is one of the quotes I was going to share today, I can't though as I can't tag cuddlebear so I quit on it.

It's been over 2 weeks like this now, it's getting scary and i know where it's leading which is why I'm trying so hard to change it and stop it.

I try to not think about my teenage years as there's alot of trauma from them. It's all in the past now, things can only get better right?

Re: Battles

I'll pass it on to our IT team for you @MissGremlin

I really like that quote

It feels quite fitting given everything you've been sharing lately. I know you've been trying really hard, and it sounds like it's been a real battle for you.

You're not alone, even when it feels that way sometimes 💛

I'm sorry to hear your teenage years were so difficult. It makes sense that those memories aren't something you want to revisit. While it doesn't take away what happened, I hope you're able to keep finding moments of comfort, support, and things that help you keep moving forward. It does get better

Be gentle with yourself today💛
