Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

I remind Luna all the time how lucky she is @MissGremlin she could be a normal dog and have to sleep outside...but instead, she's spoiled.

Re: Battles

@NightFury there's no such thing as a spoiled dog. They are with us for such short times in comparison to our lives, they deserve to be loved beyond measure. Plus Luna is adorable and deserves it ☺️.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin I don't understand why there isn't any support for you. That is ridiculous. There is supposed to be more help for people with MH concerns. I get so frustrated hearing things like this.

What sort of music are you listening to? I like most music except heavy rock and metal

I have had a lot of Christian music playing as I had a bit of a set back yesterday and need to go back to my faith to strengthen myself.

I booked an appointment to see my GP but then cancelled it when I got notification from my bank that my account is overdrawn so I don't have the money to get any prescriptions I want. Depending on how I feel I might re-book it. I need some strong pain meds for my neck and shoulder but it's also very expensive so I feel like it's pointless making the appointment. Meh, minor difficulties really.

Do you have something you rest your diamond art on when you're in bed? I am looking for suggestions 🙂

xoxo

Re: Battles

@ENKELI it's been impossible trying to get support despite how much I'm struggling. Seems the mental health services would rather me just end up another statistic rather than actually provide support to avoid that from happening (I'm safe).

I listen to all sorts of music, my play list is a mixture of all sorts.

I'm sorry you've had a bit of a setback sweetheart. Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤️.

Oh that sucks. Why must everything be so expensive. Hoping you're able to rebook it sometime so you can get some pain relief to help you.

I just use a tray to put my diamond art on and a pillow underneath the tray to raise the level a bit so I'm not leaning over too much hurting my back. Nothing fancy here 😂.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin your tray sounds like my kind of work space! Don't have to buy something specific.

Yes, I have experienced that with the mental health system too. I was in hospital after I did something silly (you can guess!) and they forgot about me so I wasn't seen for 2 weeks. Then I had a 5 minute consult with a psych who decided I was fine and discharged me with a full months' dose of the medication I had taken too much of. No follow up, nothing. It was 14 years ago and I am still disgusted by it. I ended up getting my own counselling as they wanted to put me on a wait list. I had private health insurance but wasn't told that I had a choice of hospitals until a week in. And subsequent visits to hospital have just been, you'll be fine, don't do it again off you go now.

Too much money is spent wastefully, funding unnecessary things where it could be providing better mental health services to us all.

I am yawning my head off and it is freezing! Time to climb into bed and snuggle under the blankeys 🙂

Re: Battles

I've woken up in such a full on state of panic and the thoughts are hitting so hard right now. My whole body is shaking, it's hard to breathe, my heart is pounding and I feel nauseous which is then making me panic more thinking that I'm going to be sick. I've been trying to calm myself down for the past hour, I've walked around my house and stepped outside, splashed cold water on my face, had a drink, tried to do grounding/breathing exercises, listened to music, watched some videos, snuggled with Casper, talked to an online friend but nothing has helped.

I keep hearing my counsellor telling me that we can no longer have our sessions and it's really tearing me apart. She's the only support I had so losing her feels like another loss to try to cope with on top of all the others that I'm already somehow trying to grieve. The RSD is really coming into play as it's now just another service that's let me down and pushed me away and that feels like a personal rejection even though l know she didn't want to do this, she didn't want to leave me with no support but she's been made to by her senior practitioner.

I'm scared I'm going to end up just another statistic cos I can't get the support I so desperately need. The mental health team are calling for the final time today before closing off on me as they can't do anything to help me (not that they've even tried). What's so wrong with me, why won't anyone help me, am I really beyond repair or help? It really hurts so much, not just emotionally but the physical pain is alot aswell.

I just needed to get this out, I'm hoping i can get a bit more sleep before I have to be up for the day. I'm safe for the moment, laying in bed snuggled up with Casper and waiting to get through to a crisis service.

Re: Battles

@ENKELI i like to keep things simple 😂.

I can relate so much to this. After ending up in hospital so many times after attempts (taking too much) I was only monitored for very short times before being sent home with absolutely no support. It shouldn't be so hard to get support, especially not when you're actively seeking it. I'm sorry that you've been through that aswell but know that I'm so proud of you for getting help yourself and getting to where you're at today sweetheart ❤️.

Hoping you got a good night's sleep and that today has been treating you kindly ❤️.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin hey beautiful, yes I like to keep things simple too!

It's chilly here today, I have a blankey over my legs and the uggs on. Stupid menopause, my top half is not freezing like my bottom half!!

I need to change my routine and not eat anything with sugar in it after 7pm I think. Otherwise I am up all night going to the loo. Trouble is I crave sugar so it's a no win situation! Lol, time to start behaving myself with my diet!

I hope your day is going okay and that you have a nice weekend xoxo

Re: Battles

@ENKELI must admit that it's a tad chilly here today and I'm heading out tonight. Ugh menopause sucks, I get hot easily and usually wake up sweating, it's just great fun 😂.

Oh that's annoying with the sugar. Sugar cravings are hard though I'm not much of a sweet tooth. There's so many bags of lollies in my cupboard that have gone out of date, I need to clear it out again 😂.

Days been pretty tough but I'm hanging in there. You got any plans for your weekend sweetheart?

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin until I hit menopause I never ate anything sweet. Mum bought me a chocolate egg one Easter - I had it so long it turned to powder! And since I started taking diabetic meds the cravings have become worse. I will talk to my GP about it when I make an appointment to see him. I might make an appointment for tomorrow, depends on how I feel.

I'd like to go to Funnings to pick up a couple of things, a larger pot to put a plant in and no doubt I'll come home with another plant! I got a $50 visa card for Christmas that I still haven't used so I was planning on spending it at Funnings.

Yes, I usually wear jama bottoms and a singlet at night because I get so hot while my legs and feets freeze! We are so blessed as women. Not!

Hope you have/had a nice evening xoxo
