Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@NightFury sort of. But at this stage I'll be going from my bed to my lounge. I feel like I've come down with a slight cold.

Then resting up sounds like a great idea @MissGremlin

Sorry to hear you are coming down with a cold @MissGremlin. With everything else that’s going on I’m not surprised. Physical body has its own of reacting to stress. I saw the huge improvement in my physical health after retiring from work.

last couple weeks I’ve had issues with my GP, electrician, a firm I’ve ordered outdoor blinds through, side effects from 7 day duration meds plus other things I’d prefer not to mention. Highlight of the time was seeing my psychologist yesterday. Conversation was good plus formed as distraction whilst I was there. Unexpected interruption to my plans today caused panic attack, wasn’t too bad today though

im starting to feel very tired very quickly, going to be an early night for me. Sign my system is calming down, haven’t slept much these last couple weeks

@Flutterbug9 yes the body definitely has it's own way of reacting to things. I'm glad you saw an improvement in your physical health when you retired.

Sounds like the last couple of weeks has been full of many things going on, I hope things settle down for you sweetheart. It's great that the appointment with your psychologist yesterday was good and also a distraction. I'm sorry to hear about the panic attack today, I know it's hard when something unexpected impacts our plans.

I hope you get a good night's sleep sweet and i look forward to chatting to you again whenever you are around and up for a chat. Sending you love and hugs ❤️.

Re: Battles

So it's 5.10am and I haven't been able to get any sleep tonight. I've gone through numerous panic attacks and I'm sitting in a constant state of panic, I'm so emotional and have tears running down my face that I can't stop. I'm feeling so stuck on what to do but I can't keep going like this, it really is too much. But how am I supposed to get support when every service has turned me away, I both need and want help but I can't seem to get it which is so frustrating and disheartening, I feel completely rejected and like I just don't matter enough to be helped to get through this.

I'm sitting with dark and heavy thoughts and I sat alone with them for as long as I possibly could before reaching out for help from a crisis service. But then I was left feeling so hurt after they suggested that I get some sleep and I told them that I've been trying but i can't cos I keep having panic attacks, their response was 'I don't think i can do anything to support you, I hope you have a restful night' then they ended the chat. It took so much strength to reach out in that moment and to get that response after opening up and sharing how I'm thinking and feeling really, really hurt.

I'm safe for now, I'm laying in my bed but I'm scared and feeling so alone.

Hi @MissGremlin

Omgosh what a tough night for you, and you are working so hard to take care of yourself, you are safe, you are in bed and you are still reaching out - which shows your perseverance and your commitment to your own safety.

We appreciate you and all you do in sharing your experience, safety needs and pathways taken to seek help.

I am hoping you will be able to put some music on, something soothing, focus on calming your breath, take it light and slow and hold onto something you love, be it a thought that brings calm - maybe of the ocean waves settling on a beach, the water touching your toes, or the sunset settling on the horizon.

Other members will be around soon and will also have ideas to share, list the glimmers you can grasp in your day - the moments that warm and still your heart.

stay connected 🙂

Re: Battles

Thankyou @Mindee for your kind and supportive words.

I dozed off for 30 minutes but I've just woken up having a full on panic attack. I'm trying to calm myself down but I'm struggling, I'm seeing things and hearing things. I'm trying to tell myself that it's not real, that I'm safe but I'm exhausted and scared. How can the images, visions and sounds be so clear and vivid if they aren't real, i close my eyes but it's just constant movement with seeing things, I just want to slow everything down, I need it to stop.

I'm safe for now. I'm trying to focus on my puppy and just holding him but this is really hard and scary.
