Gardens

Gardens

Hi @Dimity How is your garden looking? Still green? Weeds? What is your favourite plant/s you have?

were you able to bring Tiger home?

Im slowly trying to teach myself about gardening, thank goodness for Google. One of my neighbours has good plant knowledge, it was her that suggested putting the cuttings into water. She puts water in old juice bottle each time she wants to get cuttings to grow roots.

Re: Gardens

There was large variety of different colours and appearance it wasn’t an easy decision @Dimity.

they are cute. I’m planning on putting 3 plants together into the terracotta bowls … maybe Saturday, need to buy bag of specific soil.

Moving the kalanchoe into different spots I accidentally broke one piece off…. Put it straight into jar of water. Roots on it are small, good start though. Can go onto the plant stall next month.

feeling bit apprehensive about tomorrow afternoon. Found out yesterday my local gp is on holiday, her practice won’t open until next week. My meds will run out before then and I don’t have current script. Have appointment to see a dr at different practice, hoping I get new script. Missed taking meds for one day due to being physically unwell …. Impact was not nice

Re: Gardens

I hope the new gp works out well for you @Former-Member . I should probably chase up a flu shot but can't face making an appointment at the moment.

I like the different leaf colours in your new plants. And kalanchoes are so bright and cheerful.

I'm still waiting on help in my backyard before I can replant. And I haven't planted my bulbs yet. I'll have to get a delivery of potting mix.

I've got some pieces of succulents in water in the kitchen hoping they'll send out roots.

Good luck setting up your terracotta bowls.

Re: Gardens

@Dimity Long story short, I ended up requesting script from online app through which first dr available phones.

took more than 4 hrs to get phone call but is done, script for one box meds on my phone, pharmacy trip Saturday.

5yr anni of my husband death today, hasn’t been the best of days.

ANZAC service tomorrow morning, croquet mid afternoon. I’m looking forward to next few weeks getting back to usual. His birthday anni 2 days after mine late next month, last anniversary until August.

Re: Gardens

Glad you got the prescription sorted @Former-Member .

Anniversaries must be hard. I'm sorry you lost your husband so early.

Tiger is complaining. I'm not sure what he wants, other than attention. Last time the vet said he's lost a lot more weight, and she's concerned he's losing muscle mass. I'm topping up his food several times a day so I hope there's nothing seriously wrong.

Re: Gardens

Sorry to hear Tiger isn’t well @Dimity

Based on past experiences, tests to check thyroid, liver and kidneys could be something to talk to your vet about (unless they have very recently done).

hoping you can get some info about the cause and that it is treatment

Re: Gardens

Thanks @Former-Member . Tiger had blood tests earlier this year and kidneys were fine, liver not too bad. I think they said an ultrasound could be the next step but they're reluctant to sedate him, which would be needed.

Hope your croquet game wasn't disrupted by the rain.

Re: Gardens

@Dimity Croquet didn’t go ahead due to the rain.

It’s difficult to know what to do when our pets have health issues already and then show signs they might have another health condition.

So much for having new supply of meds. Dr I spoke to on Thursday sent script to my phone for me to get filled at local pharmacy within couple days. Yesterday found out script was auto sent to pharmacy of that online ‘dr practice’ who filled the script thursday, not long after end of phone call with meds being mailed to me within 2 business days. As of tomorrow morning I will have no meds

Re: Gardens

Oh dear @Former-Member I hope the meds arrive Monday or Tuesday.

It sounds as though the online Dr only prescribed 1 box too, no repeats. So you'll need another script quite soon.

When I ran out of one of my meds on discharge from hospital a few weeks back, my pharmacy advanced me the med on the promise of a script as soon as I could get a gp appointment. Maybe that would be a possibility for you, and get the new script as soon as your usual gp is back from leave. The only thing is, the extra dispensing this month might not be covered by PBS. You could ask your pharmacist about it

Tiger doesn't seem acutely unwell. He's always had a tendency to vomit but it's of more concern with the weight loss. I trust your cats are well.

Re: Gardens

Feeling bit annoyed with this entire online script @Dimity. Fill a script after 5pm with next 3 days being public holiday and weekend where person has already paid for meds to be delivered within 2 business days. Kinda obvious meds possibly not going to arrive until Tuesday. I fail to see why pharmacy didn’t just leave script for me to get filled over the weekend.

will only be one box which is fine, my gp is due back from leave this week plus my next appointment is mid May.

my cats are not happy about this sudden drop in temperature, apart from that they are both fine. Sunny has bit of discharge from one eye which is normal.
Polar fleece blanket over recliner with cat bed under the blanket ….. all I saw yesterday afternoon was movement under the blanket. Both recliners the same 😸

Re: Gardens

Glad the cats are comfy @Former-Member . Yes, the cooler weather affects us humans too.

It's a pain about the wait for the script but it's good to know it's an option. Maybe you'll reconsider about an online psychiatrist... could be better than nothing.

I see my therapist this week but I'm not sure if it's worth persevering. She hasn't suggested anything yet or started any therapy so it seems a waste of time and money.
