Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Hi @Owlunar, you crack me up! Love your humour (washing & rain etc lol) But what can I say, you do live in Melbourne lol 😮☔⛅☔🍃☔🔆☔😮
Yes, ita Thursday already, how did this happen indeed
Glad your 'Federal Aged Care Package interview' went well yesterday. Glad you let them see how much pain you're in. Its hard to know how much to keep hidden. Getting around on crutches must be so hard, i pray i dont have to endure such things, dont thinkbi'm strong person. Yes, "People just had to put up with it" arthritis pain it, since beginning of time i guess. Assuming of cause 'bone degeration' always existed. Arthritis is on rise in western nations. I'm scared of ever having surgery.

Glad you're not in the 'public system' and have choices there. "Leave well enough alone" is fair enough. I just spoke to an old nursing friend last week whose had x3 laminectomies (spine fusions) and still in agony. Something wrong there 😧

You have had a big week
- domestic help Tuesday
- Aged Care Package yesterday
- domestic today
- shopping tomorrow and then the

"Days on end with stuff happening"

Glad you're on the forums here Dec - always someone about, something 'real' to read, a sense of community belonging 🙂

I gotta get off the couch, shower, go do my shop shift...

Have a good day my size owl forum friend 💜🐦💜🐦💜

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @outlander@Former-Member@Shaz51

I have been feeling much better today - the doctor gave me an injection for the back pain last night - my knee clunks when I walk and that is making me feel kinda sick - and that's what made me go to the doctor about it in the first place

It hurts at times too - and that is really acute - there is a piece of cartilege that is torn and has extruded between the bones and I did this when I was on holidays when I didn't notice a step up and thumped the floor really hard -

So I am getting used to the crutches - I don't actually have to think about them - I used them a lot in the past and it's a skill I know - but my back is crying out in the complaints department about unfair treatment,

ooohhhh - it's starting again today - I took a DVD player out for the hard rubbish collection with a sign that it is in good order and it has the remote control taped to it - I reckon someone will take it away and it will be gone to a good owner - after all - they quickly took my old ricketty folding table and some really old white plates - interesting and more interesting - there is an old TV table of mine that I put out there years ago - how do I know it was mine? It has an identitying scratch -

I find the hard rubbish collection interesting - but then - I am alone - my ex and my son used to cart "wonderful junk" - ahhhhhhhhhhh no!!

Lapses - I know you love my ordinary stuff - well - it is interesting to me or I wouldn't write it

I have had ants - last night I was on-line and I found ants in a bit more than a school excusion of them under the papers on my coffee table - they ran away before I got to them but I cleared the paper off the table and tidied it after spraying the coffee table - sheesh - I have so many random ants atm - and they tend to go after my cat's food - she won't eat it if there are ants in it and frankly - I wouldn't eat her food anyway but less so if there were ants in it - horrible

And a couple of days back I got into 5 nests with ant sand and shut them down - and heavy rain has done the last march but from one side of their disaster I can see ants running back and forth - one way carrying eggs - and I think I need to cut them short with more ant sand -

When I first moved here my daughter lifted all the pavers and there were several ants' nest there - I think I am in for a bad summer with ants and this is more than slightly annoying

Anyway - enough of all this -

Last night my doctor gave me a referal to see a physiotherapist - nothing he can do about the cartilege but there are many kinds of braces I can wear over my trousers and I just need to know the best kind

I just made meat patties - I have some in the freezer and I add three for my lunch with salad - I think my appetite is returning

Okay - enough rattling
