Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Owlunar

Hi Mumma Bear,

I am just sitting in my bedroom waiting for the cleaner to be done and you came into my thoughts. I sure hope that you have had a good day! How is everything? Are things improving on the daughter front? Anyway I hope that you are well.

I don’t have too much to report. I have been busy tidying up the house yesterday and today. Trying to move all the clutter into our spare room ahead of my husband’s knee replacement surgery on the 4th of July. I am a bit stressed about the idea of Nurses and Physiotherapist’s coming into the house to treat him. I hate having people in the house. I still need to move some things from my daughter’s room into the spare room because hubby will be sleeping in there when he first comes home from hospital. He wants to do that so he doesn’t disturb me in the night if it’s painful when he turns over or something and I won’t have to worry about accidentally touching his leg either. So much to do in the next two weeks. Well the cleaner just left. She was here longer today. She is paid for 2 hours but usually only stays 30 mins or so. Yesterday I wrote her a longer list to do and texted it to her. Today she stayed an hour and fifteen minutes. She is a fast worker so I feel more satisfied with that.

@Owlunar hope you are alright ... seen some signs of your wise owl ... floating around ... not just feather ... gentle hugs

@Oaktree I tried to change my cleaner to fortnightly and they amde a thing about hard that was ... I tended to save the wet areas for her ... yes ... not had any male cleaners yet ... in the end I let them go ... we do not make that much mess and dirt ... I would like one once per month actually ... to help with the high and hard stuff ... cos I cannot climb anymore ... it feels wrong to have too clean a house ... its germist ...where are the germs gonna live??? Did a big load of dishes today ... thats enuff.

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @MDT @Shaz51 @Appleblossom @Oaktree @Zoe7 @TAB @EternalFlower

I do not find it easy to talk about my own issues - so forgive me for my silence lately - I think I should let you know what's happening and not just disappear as I did when my uncle died last year. I had a lot to deal with then.

I do now - I am having major dental surgery in August and I have a dental phobia and an anaesthetic phobia - it is impossible to explain to anyone how deeply all sorts of issues affect us - e.g. - the intensity of physical pain or mental health issues. So I have had to be very honest with the oral surgeon about my concerns and he is very understanding.

Also I will be speaking to the anaesthetist - the hospital and my pain specialist about this. I will not need the extra-strong pain medication for dental surgery but I will need it for my shoulder if I have to stay in hospital overnight - which might be the case as I have no one at home - I have been in such a position after sedation before and people need to know everything applicable and I need them to know.

I can endure my emotions - not pleasant but I can - I find it a bit hard to manage ordinary things atm but I am doing all the important stuff and it seems I have a lot of appointments lately. So many - dental and otherwise - but I am sure even though I am not really up to much I can do what I must and I will - a phobia is not fear - it's something else entirely - and pretty normal actually.

I have been reading the forums but feel unable to say anything useful atm. I'm sorry about that - I don't imagine my problems are worse than anyone else's - on the contrary - they are less.

Still - I have my big birthday in a couple of weeks and just after that my son's anniversary - 37 years - such a long time - I am used to the fact he died now - he is at peace wherever and whatever happens after death - and it was his choice - as much as I don't like it - I respect it.

I am taking things very quietly between appointments and I can endure this - life has taught me many useful lessons.

Also - it is very cold in Melbourne atm - this doesn't help.

I wish all of your the all best and send my love to all of you
