Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Thinking of you @Owlunar I know life is not easy for you at the moment - and you don't need to reply - just wanted you to know you are very much in my thoughts 💖

Thanks @Zoe7

I still have no news - I am checking the Tasmanian death notices each day and I think my aunt is still alive. I don't want to bother anyone as my family is old, overseas, interstate - and I don't really know a lot of the younger members of the family.

I can only wait - it's draining and the news about COVID is worse everyday - I guess I will be watching my aunt's funeral on ZOOM which feels awful

So it's a waiting game and I am surprised how tired it is making me feel

It is tiring @Owlunar It would be taking an emotionally draining toll on you and that affects our mood and physical capabilities tremendously. Do what you need to get through and I hope that someone gives you some information on your Aunty soon. I wish I could do something from my end for you - the downside of anonymity ☹️

HI @Shaz51 @Zoe7 @outlander @oceangirl @Emelia8 @Anastasia @BlueBay

No news yet - from anyone - it is draining waiting for inevitable bad news and not hearing from anyone - I read the notices in the newspaper each day aware my extended family cares about me but most like those who do are old and far away - and I understand this

Of course there is my sister who is so toxic she is the kind of person who wants to be the bride at the wedding and lead the funeral service - which is something my grandmother used to say - or nearly what she used to say. I am not getting in touch with her to find out because I am sure I would feel worse if I did speak to her - I am sure I will hear something anyway - bad news spreads fast

The interesting point in my day has to be the news - COVID spreading like crazy - I am keeping myself at home and I am sure there are other people doing the same - I was able to get most of what I wanted on-line yesterday though I am missing my support workers' shifts because of the lack of people in the work-force

The other issue is that infamous tennis player - it's on - it's off - I can say that if I wasn't wanted in a country I would go home - I never go where I am not wanted - why would anyone? Still - that's his choice and he can play that game I guess.

In the world - what will happen will happen - life goes down - so they say - well - life goes on anyway

I do come in here and read each day - I just feel I have little to give to anyone right now

Re: Life can be a Pain

@Owlunar It is such a stressful and sad time for you Hon - waiting for the inevitable, especially when you are not with that person or hearing any news, is horrible. You have nowhere to place your grief even though that is what you are already doing ...so, so hard ☹️

I think it is wise to stay home with all your health concerns - I am pretty much doing the same but that is nothing unusual for me. I do still brave the supermarket and Bunnings (LOL) but have also done some online shopping and click and collect to minimise my time around others. We still have no idea what going back to school is going to look like - but I am preparing as if it is normal and will take it from there.

The whole 'tennis player' thing is ridiculous - play by the same rules or get sent home. There is an air of elitism in all of this (both from the player's side and from the government) and I have heard some players talk about him as if he should be considered 'above' others because he is number 1 in the world ...it is only a game!!!!! It is not life and death and that frustrates me more as there have been so many people not being able to come home to see loved ones before they have died because they had to follow the rules.

As for you, my dear Dec, be here/don't be here, read/don't read - do whatever you need and know we are always here for you 💖💖💖
