Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Geez Tabby Cat - I don't know what a collapsed lung would look like but I have a wild idea that if that was the case you would be in hospital and not preparing for a rotten day at work right now

I could say take the day off - but then - that has to be your choice - we are having a lovely spring morning here in lovely locked-down Melbourne - at least I have a private little court yard behind my unit and I can go out there and enjoy the freedom of breathing mask free

All the best today - or have I already said that? If anyone tells you to "have a good day" - tell them you have other plans -

Dec

I found this just for you Tabs - but I am not insisting you have a good day - just the best possible

@MDT

Thanks Hamza -

And yes - about what we inherit - too true - but we can't pick our parents - and my father was a good father altough a bit too strict at times -

And he wasn't just A policeman - he was THE policeman - and that certainly kept me in line because everyone knew who we were

Indeed

I learned rather early on that life is very much opt in. My parents were good and still are. But there are always skeletons in the closet I think.

Take care my friend

Ah yes @MDT

There are always skeletons in the closet.

I remember entertaining myself wondering how they got there. I figured out some of it - though I think it's an archetypical issue - common to most people

My mother never wanted to "go back into things" so a lot was "swept under the rug" and that rug was like an elephant in the room - and we were not allowed to upset her - so things were never dealt with

I just sat here and thought for a bit - I have accepted so much of the past now I am relieved of it. That is a good thing

Thanks @Owlunar I don't know either just looked funny

Re: Life can be a Pain

I don't know either @TAB

But I am interested in all things medical so I looked at some things on the internet - I had to have my Doctor Google moment of course

And I looked at the pics - and if your Xrays looked like that then yes - that's what a collapsed lung might look like

How are you feeling? I gather you battle with your health quite a bit - a persistent cough is draining too. I know I would cough in my sleep - I was hospitalized twice with this cough and the nurses would wake me up and tell me to stop - but I guess if I could sleep and cough at the same time it was aggressive as well as annoying

Do you know if your cough continues when you sleep because this would make you really tired as well

I need to know your results now - I am such a curious being

Hi @TAB

I'm glad you like the cat pics Tabby Cat - I only remembered there were two black and white iconic felines when you posted yesterday - and I had them wrong - so I am correcting myself

This is Felix

And this is Sylvester

Remember Tweety - "I tort I taw a puddy tat"

So thanks Tab - I got the boys sorted now and the pics are in my file and I can used them again and again
