Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Hi @Shaz51

I was getting to you - thanks for the support.

I am wondering how things are going with you - your Mum, Mr Shaz and Poor Little Kidney.

It's time I read your thread to see - the last thing I remember was that Mr Shaz was having a hard time because your Mum told him all you are doing for her - so hard for you - I will catch up on your thread soon

It's really cold here in Melbourne today - icy - and there is a warning on my weather app - and there is a lot of snow in the mountains here

Hi @BlueBay

I hope you are able to take care of yourself so you can give the operation on your wrist the best chance tomorrow - it's the most important thing you have to be concerned about right now

Seeing as I am having a procedure on Wednesday we are in a similar place -

But I hope you care enough about yourself to take your medication at least - you don't have control over The Crowded House of Huffnpuff's OCD or having a baby wanting to get up so early in the morning - all the things that have crashed about you - but you can take your medication.

I take mine - because they are pain-killers and if I don't I suffer - and it seems you have too and I am sorry about that -

And your mother - yeah - perhaps she is afraid of the coronavirus and social distancing which doesn't mean she can't see her family but she has always been quaint - tough though and I do understand

So - put yourself first and give tomorrow it's best shot - and then do your best to let life flow around you and other people can cook - give the wrist its best chance too

Sending hugs

Sigh yes - I really have been taking it easy today and no thinking about my injection tomorrow - I never think it's worth the effort to worry so I am not but I feel as if I am wading waist deep through knee deep jelly - yukky

Yes @Appleblossom - since i studied anatomy most medical people have treated me with respect - no one needs to be patronized. - people need to be respected - there are people everywhere who can't help themselves though - regardless of their professional status.

I'm really tired this evening

Hi @Appleblossom @outlander @BlueBay @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Bunniekins

I am really tired today - it's post after shoulder injection day and I am just doing the main things and I am about to take a walk to see the world - though I have been out and about lately and the weather in Melbourne has been cold in the mornings but lovely

My time on the computer has to be limited and I have to take it easy while this shot takes time to settle and if it works for me I can go on having them and avoid shoulder surgery. Yesterday I learned that shoulder replacements of different kinds and other shoulder issues are trickier than knee or hip - I do love gathering information like that - okay - let's avoid the reverse shoulder replacement - there is no guarantee it will be any better afterwards - good to know

Although I can keep my mind quiet about pre-procedure nerves my body takes it out on me - I lose my appetite and my energy - I have learned to sit this out - it was really hard leaving home yesterday because of my upset tummy - but it was okay once I left

And the doctor who did the injection was very kind and I hardly felt it - so this will be something I can repeat - the last couple of injections into joints that I had were not good - and so - today I am taking things easy and hoping to get some good take-away at the shops - I really don't feel like eating anything much at all today - vegemite toast and coffee is okay - sometimes - today was the day

Back later everyone and thanks for your support
