Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Re: Life can be a Pain

It's Sunday

@Shaz51 @BlueBay @Gazza75 @Zoe7 @Maggie @outlander @Former-Member

I got home late on Friday afternoon - my back was stiff from the long flight and then the long taxi trip but I am glad to be home again with wonderful memories of two weeks in the tropics - I store these in my mind and enjoy them - planning a trip, enoying the trip and then the memories that last forever help to get through the harder parts of life

And it was good to get away from Melbourne weather too - and it was hot there - hotter than last year - having an ocean view was lovely - and as I wanted to keep out of the sun during the hot part of the day I could sit in the downstairs areas which are partly indoors and partly ourdoors and enjoy watching people in the pool -

So either in the mornings or the evenings I took walks down along the Esplanade where there is a lot to do and people are interesting to watch and then there was my trip on the helicopter and the Aquarium and I also went to the museum there - and I enjoyed my time relaxing too and the food is wonderful

But there is no place like home - I saw one of the doctors at my clinic about the allergy I have on my legs when the sun must have set it off - I take great care not to get sunburn but it can happen and it was a small area at the top of my socks - it is clearing up though

I did my laundry the day before I came home which was a brilliant idea -

It would be so much fun to have everyone along on a holiday like this one - people gather in different areas as families - that would be different for me - I get along well with my own company but sharing a good time would be a much enjoyed extra

But you were all there on-line

So I am back in Melboure where it rained on the washing last night - c'est la vie

Hello @BPDSurvivor

May I take this opportunity to welcome you to the Sane Forums - we are a family here and support each other - I am sure you will find help here and I look forward to learning more about you

And @BlueBay @Shaz51 @Maggie @Zoe7 @outlander @Former-Member @Gazza75

It is good to be back and we are having great weather in Melbourne today - it seems I brought it back with me.

That's a great pool BlueBay - I have given up swimming in my old age - I used to swim a lot - there is a pool at the hotel where I was staying - surrounded by palm trees - Cairns is certainly a wonderful place to stay and I have a tan on my arms and legs - pity about the allergy on my legs but that is gradually fading - my doctor said it might take a while but it will disappear.

I am not sure where I am going next year - maybe Darwin - I enjoy thinking about my trips - it's great not having to worry about anyone else's choices too -

I'm going to see my favourite dentist this afternoon - actually he is the only one I trust and I was his first patient over 30 years ago - I'm actually looking forward to seeing him again - he really is a friend who happens to be my dentist after all these years

Yesterday I had one of those free yearly medical tests - I still have all my marbles which is good to know -
