Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Hi @oceangirl

He's 60 - He's a short man and strong - perfect weight

But I am wondering about his father - I think he had heart problems - he passed about 23/4 years ago

And thanks again @outlander

Of course - I am worried - I care about him and his other kids as well as my d and gd - I might give up the idea of sleeping tonight - and see how I go if I sleep on the couch watching a movie or three

@Owlunar

I hope the surgery goes well tomorrow, many people have this operation and have great outcomes. My dad had open heart surgery in his 40's- quadruple bypass. I was in high school at the time and we just moved from NSW to Qld.

Hug incoming

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @oceangirl - that's good to hear.

And @Shaz51 @outlander @utopia @Appleblossom @BlueBay

The operation is planned for early tomorrow afternoon - I texted my daughter and she texted back telling me this and saying he looks well

And yes Outlander - watching a movie will be good - just tidy up and lie on the couch in case I do fall asleep

Hi @outlander @oceangirl @utopia @utopia @Faith-and-Hope @Zoe7 @Razzle

I slept well last night which was a surprise

My sil went into surgery a few hours ago and we won't know anything for hours yet - bypass operations can last for 6 hours and he will be in intensive care afterwards - I looked this up on the net -

I spoke to my daughter and grand-daughter on the phone - understandably my daughter sounds exhausted - my grand-daughter can't make her mind whether to come to Melbourne or not - it's complex - this bad weather could set her health back and what can she do anyway? I suggested she stays where she is and when it's time to make up her mind she will

It's normal to feel helpless at such a time but when we can only stand and wait that's what we do - just being prepared to do whatever we can when the time comes.

Bypass surgery means a lot of other wounds to get the grafts - it's so lucky my sil went to have the angiogram when he did - it's shocking that everything has moved so quickly but this man never complains - I'm really glad he acted when he did

Thinking of you @Owlunar

Glad you were able to sleep some last night

And thank you for the update

I am confident it will go well today and that he makes a full recovery

My Dad had his bypass 30 years ago, and never needed another surgery because he followed a good diet and exercise after

I hope he gets lots of support, having bypass is a big operation!!

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @Shaz51

Some times we just have to sit the time through - doing whatever we must - or can

This operation is a tough deal but he will feel very well afterwards - this was good to read - sometimes Dr Google and be actively supportive

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @oceangirl

It's great news to hear how well your father has been since his byapass surgery

A good diet and exercise is always good - they (my family) already have that lifestyle - now they might stop smoking which would be even better

I never say anything about smoking because I never want to say "I told you so" - surely they already know about it - everyone keeps advertising it - I quit a long time ago - it can be done - we just need the motivation - maybe this is it - I hope so
