Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Glad to hear you have a supportive gp @Owlunar . That's so important.

Not good to hear about your cold. Isn't it amazing how something as small as the common cold can really knock us around big time. I hope you feel better soon.

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @utopia

It's really good that I have a good GP - it takes time to break in a new doctor but it's worth the effort and he is supportive

Last night I finally told him about my arthritic finger - I have a lot of arthritis in my hands - inherited from Gran - tendency to be arthritic - this joint is the most painful I have had though and he felt the joint and said it's very warm - and painful - so I can take some medication I rarely use but always have on-hand - the thing is - so unfortunate - I am allergic to most antiflamatories - but the finger feels better today

I think I didn't have a cold but a virus or maybe I am allergic to the new shampoo I bought - I don't think I will use that again - I know are allergic to a lot of things yourself - you get it about being allergic to things but what a pity - my hair felt wonderful after using this new shampoo but not worth it to be unwell after using it

Okay - I tried it twice - it was expensive but I think I have had my money's worth

And you are right in so many things - I have heard you talking about the limitations of the products most people are fine with -

Re: Life can be a Pain

Yes I know about allergies to products @Owlunar . What annoys me the most is food or other product that you've never had a problem with but all of a sudden you do. And it's because the manufacturers have changed an ingredient. Like swapping to using palm oil instead of the old vegetable oil they used to use. Then I end up on the toilet for half an hour in Intense pain. Or when toilet paper companies started putting perfume in the toilet paper tube. Ouch. Causes dermatitis. Not good.

But sounds like you know what has caused your allergy. S9 you can avoid that product from now on.

Just resting at home tonight. Back and hip still painful but medication helping.

Hope you have a lovely evening.

Hi @utopia

Yes - I know what caused the allergy - I washed the shampoo out of my hair and although it doesn't have the wonderful soft feeling it had I have stopped itching and my nose and throat have cleared up

Changing the contents of products from vegetable oil to palm oil was something I was not thrilled about either - I just don't like it - not allergic like you - and yes - I do wonder why toilet paper needs to be scented - I had better check my own actually - no - it's not - puzzled why it happens esp when people are allergic to products like that and we all need them - and do we learn anything by sniffing packets before purchase? Sometimes maybe

I'm sorry you have hip and back pain - that's rough - I am glad the medication is working

Physical pain is draining - it adds to our other problems - there is a toothpaste ad that asks if anyone likes living in pain - really - I can't imagine for one moment why anyone would even ask such a question.

I was told by some ignoramus once that I didn't like pain much - dúh - does anyone? I actually asked her that at the time - strange - she fell out of my life quickly after that

All the best Utopia
