Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Oh @Owlunar I am so very sorry that was the outcome for you and Companion Cat but she is at peace now. You have always said you do not want her to be suffering and would make the hard decision when the time was right - that doesn't make the loss any easier though Dec. All my thoughts and many hugs coming your way 💛🧡💚💙💜

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @Zoe7

Companion Cat had a substantial weight loss which was the defining factor and the list of things that could have been wrong was long and the outcome not good for any of them - I guess mostly age related

I missed her last night - I had trouble getting to sleep so got up and did my TV thing - listening but not watching historial documentaries - they did the trick and when I realised I had slept through a half-hour or so and was disturbed when there was a recorded commercail break and went to bed and slept well for a while but not long - I feel tired and droopy today - but over the crying of yesterday

The decision was made a long time ago - before this cat was even remotely existing - I have never let my animals suffer - I had an old canary put down at the vet because one of his feet was all strange and perching birds need to be able to sit on the perch which he couldn't do - his brother though could stay in the cage at home until he died peacefully - not long after - and that has to be about 20 years ago now - and how many cats - 5 actually - actually I think keeping them in a tank was unnatural -

Enough of this - today I recover

I hope your day is okay - I forget what you are doing but you seem busy with the pool, DBT and your prep and teaching - whatever you have on today I hope it goes well

Thanks @TAB

I didn't drive to the vet - I took a taxi - as usual - but I only thought I would be talking to the vet about the cat having a sedative and then getting her teeth cleaned a little earlier because one of her teeth could need extraction

But the tooth wasn't the trouble - and yes - I stayed - the vet took her out and put a canula in then brought her back so I could stay with here until she left - years ago when our old black cat went to sleep I had the feeling she came on inside my heart - this time this beautiful cat just slipped away

Been there before - I have loved them Tabby Cat and they have been a big part of my life and I have always cared for them - one of our cats ran away when we were moving - I had found a new owner for her but we couldn't catch her

Sometime later my daughter was riding past our old house with one of her step children and saw the cat in great condition living at the house - the new owners had taken her in - I hated abandoning a cat so this has always been a relief

Thanks Tab

Thanks @Sophia1

You weren't late - all that only happened yesterday - I will recover - I feel very tired today

Not to sure what to do first - um - I feel disjointed - the house seems very quite without the cat who slept most of the time

My daughter texted me several times while she was at work and rang me on the way home - this was very thoughtful and helped a lot - and she reminded me I could go away for longer when I am ready - which isn't yet

My daughter is having a hysterectomy next week - and it would be my son's 49th birthday this coming weekend - and my grand-daughter is recovering from her operation and in the new year she will be planning her move to Queensland - everything is happening at once

Your soul cat much as been very much like my cat - very important pets - we do love them
