Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @outlander

There is not a whole lot I can do with my hair - it has a mind of it's own - it's fine but aggressive and if I had it short it would be spikey and that's not me

So I have clips in either side and letting it grow a bit would be a change - I am hoping to get down to the shops in the main shopping area here and see a different hair dresser and maybe have a bit of colour - there was something about my previous hair-dresser that irritated me - I can't put my finger on what so I felt like not going often this year so yes - see a different hair-dresser and talk about some blond streaks - that would give me a lift

That pony-tail was really something - right down my back - and after I saw it on the floor I wished I had arranged for it to go to the anti-cancer-council for wigs - it was at least 15 inches of untreated hair - but I don't feel like growing it that long again - it was a lot of trouble but I loved it

I fell asleep watching Star-Trek darn it - I really hate sleeping in the late afternoon like that - I will have to cook some dinner soon

Back later Outlander

Youre precious @outlander ❤ are you doin ok? Love your new profile pic. Not obline much lately but glqf youre still strong here. You've grown so much 🌹

Ho @Owlunar, i normally have wild woolly hair but a $15 professional straightening, oh my... What a difference 🙂 Think i'll invest in a straightener & keep this as my 'new look' Just got my own 'Seniors'card so trying to pack the year out with positive changes / positive memories, like new hair. Might put foils in yet but undecided. She plucked my 5month eyebrows forest that day too, all
for $25 🙂 Next time i'm going to have a shampoo massage too 🙂

Did you have a nice dinner? I open a can of vegie soup some nights in this cooler weather.

Give your puddytat a hug from me 🐙

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Former-Member

My puddytat is up for cuddles lately - I have been lying down and reading a lot lately - I bought a bunch of books last weekend - easy reading - the weather is rotting my socks off - I really feel as gloomy as the weather here - when I lie down to read Companion Cat is all over me - talking, giving me orders, wanting cuddles, complaining - I understand her cause I feel the same way

So right - so true - next time I get back to my easy winter reading I will have the cat telling me and I will share your cuddle with her - she will be delighted

It's a good idea to pack your year with positive changes and memories - I keep thinking about last winter in Sydney and the winter before in Canberra - how time passes - I feel like going back to Lakes Entrance for a few days - not as stressful but I have to get my BP sorted out first - I have been reading this up on the internet - I have enough medical knowledge to know what applies and what doesn't and probably different medication would be better - my BP is too low for most of the day with what I am taking - add the gloomy weather to this and this is not fun at all - I know you understand

So yeah - maybe I can find a hair-dresser I will like and get blond streaks - my hair is straight with a double crown and a cow-lick - it is so spikey it is irritating right now - and this is something I can fix - as I can getting my blood pressure attended too

I had cutlets and vegies for dinner - I sometimes have a can of vegetable soup too - so think with chunks of meat and vegies it reminds me of the stew I used to make - cooking for one is B O R I N G and I know you know so I am always trying to be inventive - I had Chicken Kiev last night with vegies - always eat vegies

Hi @outlander

I love your avatar too - it's cheerful - I agree with Lapses - you have grown a lot - well done -

I'm ok, just really tired, probably winter blues, internal conflict and added emotions all take the energy. Fell asleeping twice typing this with phone in my hand.

Re: Life can be a Pain

Easy reading @Former-Member

Try reading Danielle Steel's books - they are easy to read - guaranteed happy ending - lots of twists that she always ties up nicely - she tends to repeat names - like there is nearly always a Bill or a Liz or an Annie - sometimes all of them - but her plots are different and I wonder how she invents them but she does

I have just read two and started on a third - seeing as I have been reading philosphy etc her books are easy for me but but for a satisfying read that is easy on the heart - cause all the disasters work out - try one -- they are popular so they are also easy to find

My hair grows in all directions but with the use of clips and hairspray it only looks spiky first thing - it is literally nightmare hair and one thing I agree with my mother about - but when I was a kid I had a fringe - I really hated that - I do not like hair on my face - except for my eye-brows of course - and eye-lashes - mmm yeah - but a fringe - that was annoying

Anyway - you are allergic to your mother's cat yet s/he came back - cats tend to belong to a place and maybe puddy wants to be at home - I get itchy-eyes from my cat and it's because I love her that the irritating eyes are tolerated - but the puddy isn't your cat and so maybe imagine cuddles with Companion Cat because you can't be allergic to her - she lives a long way away from you

But yeah - you have a cat - awwwww - ahhhhhh - we had a cat no one liked and my ex had a bird I found hated me and it was a case that it was me and the baby or the bird was leaving so the bird left but my daughter and I still remember an old stray that adopted us and she was the best cat - but I don't think she was the same as Companion Cat who has only been my cat and no one else's and I am her one and only human too - and melt-downs aside - I love me puddytat and I invite you to love her at a distance too

Right now I am feeling rather lost - physical health and weather - so the cat is important but if you don't have the love in the first place - I understand cause I had a dog my ex wanted me to take when I went out running in the early mornings so long ago - I ran along the roads through the market gardens and maybe it wasn't safe and the dog cut corners then ran around on the highway when I was on my way to work - and people on the bus were saying stuff about people who did not care about their dogs and I didn't mention the stupid beast was mine - I had no love for him so I get it - I do understand

Self-care - I think people care I am alone my daughter really cares but she is recovering her own health and returning to work in half days - increasing her time - getting better - but she is always very busy and she is a musican too - we both need time to practise but we play different instruments and different music - I can't see me carting my keyboard around hoping to fit in with her band - I have had my day and I remember

Yes - I remember I have had an incredibly interesting life - one really worth living - hard but truly challenging and I am glad I have lived it and will continue - still there are days when I reflect on my past adventures and would like to be able to do those things now but the years have passed and I am passed it myself

Gloomy thoughts perhaps but honest -

I care about you and you are part of my life too
