Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Very good news about your daughter @Owlunar. Although you wouldn't want her to have this problem, at least it will be resolved soon and she will be free of pain, and able to live her life again.
Here's hoping that your pain will ease up soon so that you feel like your old self again.
Sending hugs.

Hi @utopia@Zoe7@outlander@Sophia1@Former-Member

Thanks everyone - I am glad my daughter is having that operation but it would be better if things hadn't been so bad for her over the last weeks - and after myself she is my first consideration

I feel really uncomfortable though - I have tried to contact my family but I haven't been able to get through - so I don't know what's happening there - I can pray and do - but it is very hard not knowing

If things were easier all around I would fly over there but not right now - besides when things are this private they must want that to be so - and feeling pretty alone with this I did email a friend of my from the past who was included in the list sent with the email I received on Sunday night - hard to believe we have got through to Wednesday already.

Anzac Day is important to me Zoe - one of my grandfathers died with war-related TB a long time before I was born - so yes - I remember - and one year I went to the Dawn Service at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne - it was a fantastic service and is a fantastic memory

I feel very shaky and sad tonight - but I am caring for myself first. I will be going to Hobart as soon as I can but it won't be until after my daughter has recovered from her operation

Thanks everyone for the messages and pictures - they are invaluable

@Owlunar - my great grandfather (who I never met) died back in Australia after returning from the war, due to being gassed.
My fathers autopsy showed the damage to his lungs from Agent Orange.
War is mean and nasty and cruel. It takes iur best men. Fingers crossed we don't fight a war in Syria.
Aorry you are struggling tonight. Sending hugs. Hioe tomorrow is better

Re: Life can be a Pain

My grandfather was gassed in WW1 too @utopia - he migrated to Australia with his young family to get away from the weather in London and was a policeman in Australia and lived until his 70s and I was the last person in the family to see him when I took my baby son to where he was in hospital just before he died and I have this fantastic memory of his delight trying to hold his wriggly great-grandson who was a wriggly baby - and there were three nurses helping - it is a wonderful time. The old man had emphysma caused by gassing in Europe

And your father was exposed to Agent Orange - that has to be - tough - war is a terrible thing

I am interested in War History - it is never a fun thing - and I hope and pray for world peace but wonder even as I pray if it is something we can ever have

Yeah - I am stuggling tonight - I feel very much alone tonight - I have an elderly uncle in Melbourne who tends to be reclusive and I respect that. I don't want to interupt him just to make myself feel better but tomorrow I might ring him - get on to one of my cousins on messenger - in fact - I should check my mail now in case anything as come through

Thanks Utopia

War. If the top men if countries want to go to war - then they should go. And fight it out themselves and leave iur sons and daughters out of it. @Owlunar.
Loneliness is so hard sometimes. I struggle with it from time to time too. I'm glad you have plans to contact your uncle tomorrow. Even being reclusive, he'll probably welcome your call.

Yes @Former-Member

I feel a bit like that owl in the storm right now - like they say - it never rains but it pours

But prayers - I found a lot of really great prayers in the back of the big red Anglican Prayer Book - my uncle gave me that years ago - it's fantastic - I don't think I ever read the prayers at the back - I stuck more to the regular prayers - but these special prayers are so appropriate to the situation atm

Re: Life can be a Pain

Yes @utopia - we need the politicians to play a contact sport - and see who wins and let them sort it out and leave us alone -

They need to leave everything alone except what happens in rough sport -

Leave our homes and families - mostly our sons, fathers and everyone else alone.

We have had war in so many theatres in my life time - I get edgy every time there is a new one - I guess I have memories of WW2 - not anything obvious but rather the scarity of some things and the black out screens and the city being browned-out - I was very young and it's interesting how much children do remember even if we are supposed to be too young to have memories at that age -

But what do they know -

Tomorrow will be tomorrow - I hope if I go to bed earlier - I will wake up earlier and feel better - but whatever - tomorrow will be tomorrow and have it's own events - I haven't thought about tomorrow yet

Thanks Utopia
