Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Former-Member@utopia@TAB

I wanted to study medicine but alas - my father had two more children to educate and I had to leave school - which I didn't want to do but

At my boss's suggestion I studied accountancy - and I spent most of my working life fiddling around with bits of paper and recording all that info into cash books and journals and balancing the books and loved it - so I think your son is going to do well with economics - Utopia

actually I didn't enjoy studying economics myself but now I am older I understand financial side of political propaganda - I don't know if this is a good thing or not but at least I know when the wool is pulled over our eyes - the effort is constant

I am proud of your son for your sake Utopia

And great to see you again Tabby-cat - yes - I think I am one smart cookie too - I want to remail smart so let's watch the blood pressure

And I have had the tablets for two days now and my BP is fine - but they did tell me I could be a bit wonky for a week or so and I do - yesterday was fine but today - aw Utopia - I am not worried about the day - I am more concerned if I am on the right planet -

Let's say if I choose to stay inside all day when it is such a lovely day at least I am safe -

Checking the planets - I am okay - just light-headed - and I think it's time for some soup

Re: Life can be a Pain

You’re sounding very positive @Owlunar decadian 😀 do you have more trips planned? .. also deep breathing , being hydrated and some foods such as beetroot can help bp 😸

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @TAB

Beetroot yes - I have that in salads nearly every second day - and I am always well hydrated - really important atm when I am watching my BP change every half-hour - if it changes drastically I will have it seen to but in the meantime - taking it easy today

Right now I am thinking about my next trip but haven't decided when or where - I might give the bank account a rest and go to Darwin - I love flying and the thought of flying all the way to Darwin sounds good

But right now I am resting up -

How are you Tab?

Re: Life can be a Pain

Sounds like need to watch it re bp @Owlunar but it does go up and down naturally
Darwin sounds exciting Ive never been to NT farthest north Ive been was Broome. It’s wonderful 😀
Um not too bad thanks re me, just depends where am setting the bar so to speak.. if low/same Im fine. If higher/risk Im worrying 😀 see what happens I should stretch self a bit more re work and leaving here not much fun if not much work and no other reason to be here really
Hope you’re okay . Get the Ghan to Darwin maybe??

Re: Life can be a Pain

I am sure the BP is okay @TAB but I have a new toy so I am practising watching it and seeing what's likely to be normal in the long run

I think it's stress and chronic pain but it's still something that needs to be attended to - I'm getting old and that's my new excuse and I'm keeping it

Work is keeping you here Tab? - I am sorry to hear that - ah - I know you have some tough stuff and it seems you have some decisions about work too

More or less work - raising or lowering the bar - I get it -

Keep safe Tab -

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Owlunar, is your BP problem low (syncopy) or high (stroke risk). I have the latter & just been put on a 3rd tablet to manage it. Is youre 'light headed' feeling due to side affects? Sorry i haven't kept up. You hang im there.

I'll put an update on Carers side DDD thread soon - but also feeling a bit needy myself so i might resurrect the Winter Blues & Declutter threads here in LE. Haha, have less time on my hands lately lol.

You rest up today.

Its lovely outside today but hot, so in under the aircon myself. Dad loves MASH films (he was a Korean war Vet) & actually, he just stayed awake for the whole 2hr movie "Goodbye, Farewell & Amen" - nice to hear him laughing on & off too. His spirit is still strong. Dad's sister died 2days back, so I've been concerned for him.

Took dad to mum's hospital memorial yesterday. It was lovely - especially the release x10 white doves.

E
There was some lovely poems in the memorial flyer if you'd like me to post them. No other family came to mum's memorial, i dont understand them, unless the part where you "just want it over"

Sorry youre not the best. Hope your daughter's endometriosis can be managed adequatelt, know its extremely painful for some.

How are you holding together through your run of 😞 anniversaries?
Deep breaths ❤❤❤

Re: Life can be a Pain

Yeah but no @Owlunar lack of work making me think of leaving r bars .. either mild risk /go nowhere re staying or lot higher risk and leave re moving costs/getting more work tham here and going back to way more basic accom ..

Re: Life can be a Pain

Yep. And surname isn’t Schultz tho lol @Former-Member there is the other side like nightmares every night entire life apparently but there you are. He only told me by chance when was in my 30s but he could see funny side and there are all sorts of stories mostly that come out by chance and usually good and interesting.. he was so sure he was going to pass his drivers license at 90 plus after it got taken away .. well, he said.. I was taught by German Army and qualified to drive any tank And a ‘heavy’ motorcycle.. how could I not? .. he didn’t of course. Was a phase he was going thru re self rediscovery etc after mum died.
