Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

When you say that it really hurt, I bet it did @Owlunar

I'm apparently very pain tolerant too - but the bowel pain I felt, both before & after my surgeries was excruciating.

It doubled me over with pain, I could barely stand up.

So I can see what you mean.

I hope that it improves soon for you.

Adge

Thanks @Adge

Yes - that pain really made me announce the fact out loud - and like you I have had various surgeries and a variety of different kinds of pain

This really was something else - aw........... - was it ever

It worked though - I am walking better now and with very little pain

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @outlander

Yes - things are better for me right now and I am looking forward to going away for a few days and hope very much that I can visit my rellies

Because of my bad knee I haven't been shopping for clothes since before I went to Sydney so I need to get out and get some - we can only wear the same clothes with constant washing for a certain time before they look rather tired - and gradually very tired

So hopefully this week I can do that

The weather is beautiful in Melbourne - I have been working in my garden in short stretches - it does work well to do things in bitznpiecez and it makes my garden look better - it's just a little courtyard and my tomato plant - still giving me baby truss tommies - is growing out of control - I have stuck some stakes into the pot and when I get up again I will be hunting some string to try and tidy it up a bit

I hope you are okay - I think you hurt yourself twice yesterday - or the day before - I hope you are feeling a little better

Re: Life can be a Pain

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh @outlander - my garden flourishing - yark!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was rampant after the heavy rain storms we had last month and in December - and of course hot sun on other days

I studied a book in year 10 - older members might remember it - it was called The Day of the Triffids - sci fi - it was about intelligent plants that grew out of control and took over the world.

Anyway - one reason I started trimming the vines back was that I felt my courtyard was full of triffids - esp my tomato plant - tomatoes love rain - and boy that plant is huge and I was able to stake some of it up this afternoon

Actually I have been enjoying fixing my garden - during my last two holidays my daughter and son-in-law came here and did my whole garden and wow - the green bin was jammed full and there were extra green bags too - I didn't want that to happen again but it is great that they get stuck into my garden that way -

btw - my daughter is a horticultural advisor and highly qualified - I am very proud of her

Some new clothes - I am looking forward to that - I feel like getting something a bit different - dressy - you know

I hope you are okay - my daughter does my garden and checks on my cat when I go away - I don't expect her to do more than this - I never did - I think people need space and time to live their own lives and then what they do might be appreciated - I really appreciated what my daughter does for me

It would feel so good to me if you were appreciated for all you do

Today - I just have to share this

I went to sleep earlier again last night - long may this last - and I woke up around 5.00 am - beautiful morning - and I didn't go back to sleep as usual - long may this last - and got up early

It was a lovely day and I had plenty to do - but the day lasted forever - for some reason my watch stopped but I started it again - and the day went on and on - and I took a walk in the afternoon and strange - the news was on early

Actually my watch really had stopped and I hadn't set it - it was an hour late and I didn't notice that -

I took a walk around the block - strange day -

I will be glad to go to bed and get to sleep again - no naps today - I think I asked for prayers to sleep more at the right time and starting the day at 5.00 am and not at 9.00 am lasted a long time - so the prayers seem to be working

But I enjoyed myself - I really did - and by taking rests here and there I actually got a lot done

Re: Life can be a Pain

I did sleep well again last night @utopia - I woke up still and sore from gardening yesterday and took some medication and went back to sleep - I had a really slow start today but I did make a call to Centrelink - good result but a long wait -

I walked down to the shops 2.5 km away today - the first time I have done this since I had my knee operation - it seems it is all coming back together again and I can walk better than I have since I tripped when I was in Sydney - it feels good to stride out

Ahhhhhhhhhhh - it's nearly bedtime I think -

How are you Utopia - I hope you are reasonable - I know you have a lot of battles in areas I know little about but I am hoping for the best

Hi @Former-Member@utopia@outlander@Shaz51@Adge@Faith-and-Hope

I haven't been in for a few days - crazy reason - I wonder if there is a mozz on my right leg actually

On Tuesday - the day after the long walk I took - I woke up aware of bladder pressure - I think I went back to sleep but got out of bed and my leg was asleep and I feel and have either a strain or a sprain and the bruise is coming out now and it is starting to feel better

In my life I have fractured my right foot, had surgery to take care of a bunion, this is the third time I have sprained this ankle, had three arthroscopies on my right knee, had bursitis in my right hip recently - and how can this happen to one leg? - when my kids were young I fell onto a sharp rock when we were bushworking and I remember Nurse Little 3 yo daughter dabbing while I fixed it up with my sewing kit -

Seeing as it's getting better I feel okay about talking about it now but for a couple of days I felt really tense - as if it was too much to mention and of course I know it is not - but I have been really testing the waters with my right leg lately

I saw my therapist on Wednesday - wow - having a person who is not just doing a job but incredibly interested in my life with a toxic sister has been wonderful - I don't get depressed now - just anxious and edgy at times -

And I went for a short walk to the beach while I was in the area - lovely day for that then but today we have a storm coming in - it's very humid in Melbourne atm and cloudy and heavy and it feels as if we are all holding the sky up right now - but I think when we get rain it will be easier

btw - bit by bit and I getting the vines in my courtyard cleared up and clipped and cleared up and swept up - I seem to make more mess while I am going but it is worth it

I hope everyone is okay - thinking of you all heaps and hope I will get in touch today -

I wonder if I can find my best Saturday picture

I really have too many pics saved - so Have a Great Saturday if possible peeps
