Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Steri strips @Owlunar. It had started healing in the deeper layers. It was the skin layers that split. There is no more pain. So that's good. And hopefully when I see the gp on Thursday, all the dressings can xome off & I can have a proper shower.

Re: Life can be a Pain

It will be great to have a shower and wash your hair again - I had to go for days when I had my toe nail taken off and before that when I had my last arthroscopy on my knee - I could shower but I had to wrap my knee in plastic stuck down with tape

I'm glad you didn't have to have it stitched again and they just used steri-strips - and it's good that you see the doctor on Monday

It must be ages since you had a shower - as you said - we miss things we never think about when stuff like your skin surgery happen

We have had some hot weather in Melbourne yeah - how have you been coping with this with your arms bandaged straight - not fun at all I bet

I am feeling so much better today - I am not thinking about my procedure much atm - I will manage to do an excellent job of freaking out when I get to the hospital next Tuesday

And my daughter is picking me up on her way to work - she has cleared it with her boss that she might be a bit late - her work is not far from the hospital I am going to - and she is driving me home as well

I was just overwhelmed with too much happening and now life feels back under control - I wasn't depressed or even anxious I think - I was just feeling the weight of the world and it helped a lot to post my bothers hered - and yes - I do use my thread as a kind of journal Lapses - so I can look back at the past few days and feel how tense I was -

It's really hot in Melbourne today and I have a man in my backyard putting a new door onto my shed and she has been here since 8.15am and it's nearly noon - so yes - I will be glad when he is through so I can have a shower and wash my hair -

I hope everyone is having the best Wednesday possible - knowing we all get varying degrees of pressure on our brains and hearts

Hi @Owlunar, so glad you feel a bit better & more settled with things today 👍😀. Not an easy path you're on 💜 Hugzz.

All the very best with your arthroscopy tomorrow. Hope its an easy repair job and you recover quickly.

We all here will be thinking of you "holding you in the light" so to speak (in my prayers).

You'll be fine, I just know it ☺ 💜💜💜

I also use my thread as a bit of a journal @Owlunar. It's a safe place to write our thoughts or fears. To just let it all out to 'someone'. And to take the pressure off of us a little.

Thank youfor making my point @utopia, you're too kind, I do find journalling very therapeutic. Hope you're ok in yourself. I'm done apologising 💮

Hi @Owlunar, @Faith-and-Hope, tried to tag you on the "Happiness" thread today - re Disney movie 'Joseph' song lyrics "Better than I" which I think might bless both of you. Maybe even @Appleblossom & @Shaz51, settles my soul 💜

Hi @Former-Member

Those are beautiful pics - thanks so much

Actually I am having my arthroscopy next Tuesday - and my daughter has Wednesdays off so we can spend a little time together after she brings me home from hospital

I really must have had this whole thing on my mind and it's such a relief - and I have a bit of tidying up to do at home because I have let things go a lot lately - and all I need to do is to move the clutter out of the way and ditch some stuff as I go

My shed door looks great and I can lock it now - when they fix the roof I will be able to use it to store garden stuff and not have it get wet and ruined

Life seems to be made up of getting stuff fixed and like de-cluttering it makes up a lot of our lives

So the knee gets fixed next week and I will be glad to get that done but I am sure I will get pretty edgy about it before I get there

Ooos, got that wrong, as usual... but still wishing you all the best Dec.

As for spring cleaning, fixing & decluttering my house, which is currently on the market, after 2months of inspections & no offers, the real estate agent dropped on her way home from work & politely suggest I get more serious about decluttering! 😞 She suggested I at least clear my bed & just have a bed and dresser in there (I hate conformity! But there you go - I've been told - boohoo - such is life 😭 Have to somehow require more of myself 😞 This is a MI, i might have to go back to my psychologist about this 😖

Anyway - You have a good night 💜
