Long term GP leaving

Long term GP leaving

I haven't been here for a while but have been absolutely floored today receiving a letter my long term GP, who has been through so much with me, held me up, kept me going and pretty much helped me survive some of the worst times of my life, is leaving next week. To make it so much worse - she has not told me directly and I will not see her before she leaves. As could be expected - I am both disappointed with how this has occurred as well as 'what do I do now'? I really would have expected more from her - especially letting me know personally. It is going to be a very long, difficult weekend. Thankfully I see my psych on Monday 😢

Hey @Zoe7 ,

Sorry to hear hun.

That sounds so hard to have this hanging over you. I can see how much it has affected you.

Are you able to have half days? I can see how much you care about those children.

Awww @Zoe7 ,

Sorry to hear that you can't afford to take any time off. It sounds so hard. At the same time, I can see that a bit of distraction might be helpful, as long as you make time to grieve too.

Hugs to you.

Re: Long term GP leaving

The grieving will come later - when I have space to allow it @tyme Both my psych and I talked about it and agree that having any more time off work would not be good for me. I have a beautiful class and wonderful colleagues so being at work is better for me than being on my own. I know myself too well - any time to think when it is all so raw is not a good thing for me ...later, with a little distance, I will deal with it all.

Hugs @Zoe7 ,

I'm sure your class will put a smile on your face even when things are tough.

Re: Long term GP leaving

They did just that on Wednesday when I returned to work @tyme They are the most beautiful bunch of kids and I am so grateful to have the class I do, teach in the school I am at, and also have the most amazing colleagues/senior staff around me. They all know things are tough and have been nothing but supportive, caring and helped with whatever I have needed. I really am very, very lucky ❤️
