The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

Welcome to The Sane Cattery, the totally rational, completely normal place where we - totally sane humans - gather to admire our feline overlords. This is a judgment-free zone (unless your cat is the one doing the judging, which, let’s be honest, they always are). Feel free to share photos of your majestic moggies, chaotic kitties, and everything in between. Whether they’re plotting world domination, defying the laws of physics, or simply loafing like sentient bread, we want to see them. Because nothing says "sane" like dedicating an entire discussion to our tiny, furry dictators.

@tyme @avant-garde @Ru-bee @Former-Member

Allow me to begin...

Here is our oldest, Roughy who is 9.

Ryker, who is 7. Trying to convince himself he still fits in this thing like a glove!

And the latest edition, Luna (14 weeks)

...and another one of Luna, 'cause she's so damn cute.

I have been instructed to say that she was in no way stuck, and was just testing my responsiveness.

Thanks @ENKELI and @Mustang67 .

I dreamt last night of lookalike cats - over 20 of them, in Dad's old place.

Yes @ENKELI I've pondered what it meant. Some version of heaven perhaps?

Do they really love each other or are they just posing? @Jynx

@Dimity dreaming of a beloved animal is often a way for your brain to process grief and loss. It can be comforting, which I hope it was. I believe all animals go to heaven. Crossing over the rainbow bridge to a life, waiting for us to join them xo

Teehee ty @ENKELI they are a constant source of wholesome cuteness in my days!

@tyme haha they are half-siblings and they act like it! They steal each others food, play fight a lot, get jealous over who I'm giving attention to... but they also will groom each other, cuddle up, and they never fight like, too nasty. Never any claws out or fur flying anyway (I literally showed a video to the vet to confirm it wasn't anything to worry about lol cos they get VERY enthusiastic) 😂

@Jynx I can't get over how similar your two cats are to my previous cat and my current cat. It like they are twinies LOL

So many beautiful furry friends on here😍

I have four rescue cats. A mother and daughter, we don’t know the mother’s exact age but she’s around 20 years old, the daughter is almost 17 now but still looks like a kitten. Other two are sisters from the same litter, our youngsters only 2 1/2 years old.

Aww I know right @Mustang67 so adorable!!

EEEEE @Fenegyerek your fur babies are very cute!!

I guess you could call my kitties rescues? They were both born under my house to a local feral tuxedo kitty I had named Meowgical (who has since been collected, neutered, and relocated) - just to different dads. Trixie (the calico) came first, along with her two little tuxedo brothers. They were both fostered out but I fell in love with little Trixie and requested that I get dibs on adopting her.

Razz (the tabby) came about a year and a half later, when I'd been feeding Meowgical from time to time, so she was a bit braver to bring him up to the porch. I suspect Razz's father was this very chonky tabby I saw a couple of times in the yard. I called him 'The Don' 😂

They're a handful sometimes, but I'm glad I was able to save them from becoming street cats 😊

Re: The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

@Fenegyerek your cats look adorable. What are their names, If that doesn't give too much away about you.

Cindy was a rescue cat as well.

This was her profile picture. She was so skinny and aged 22 months, I think. My daughter picked her out as we had to put our previous cat down not long before. I gave my daughter a choice to get a kitten, or to help a cat that doesn't have a home and get a rescue cat. And she made a great choice.

Cindy certainly has filled out now. My poor mum is nearly 86 and frail and Cindy loves sitting on mum's chest at times, especially when it is food time. She will sit there staring at her, until she gets up to feed her. My mum has been looking after her for 7 years while I lived in a cabin in a caravan park, that didn't allow pets. But recently I now rent a caravan, and it is situated in my mum's driveway, but my cat is in the routine to bug mum for food. She is more of an inside cat, so doesn't venture out to the caravan yet. So far, she doesn't like going inside the van, so when I want cuddles, I have to go to her.

My sister has a tabby cat living there, and they also have another cat like Cindy, that I call "The Devil" cat, and then we have a stray black cat, that we seem to be feeding the kangaroo mince that I buy for my cat too. Lol So there are 4 cats in total. The stray is not used to me yet, so it runs aways as soon as it sees me. It looks like a nice cat though.

Are you cat affection cats? I love nothing more than cuddles with my baby.
