Something’s not right

Don’t want to accept the pain

Don’t want to accept the pain

Why can’t I pretend the pain isn’t real, maybe if I tell myself I’m okay and I don’t struggle with mental health I’ll be okay. Maybe if I tell myself that the traumatic memories aren’t real, then I can finally feel whole and less gross. Maybe I’ll just wake up from this dream soon and I’ll find peace within my mind when I do wake up. Maybe I’m okay, maybe there isn’t anything wrong with me

Swimming in overwhelm maybe @creative_writer ? It's okay to need a break sometimes!! I totally understand that it would feel suuuuper frustrating not being able to communicate how you'd like to... but hey I always got time for nonsense, if you just wanna word vomit at me without any pressure for it to make any sense or anything... just a vent space and a listening ear!

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@Jynx maybe a listening ear would help. I’m getting sensory overload from itchy ears rn. Just put some ointment in them, I hate creams in my ears, but you gotta do it. My mind was super scattered during my therapist appointment this afternoon. I did feel restless last night, maybe I need sleep. Though it was probably my fault, I shouldn’t have been shopping last night 🤦🏻‍♀️

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@creative_writer aye soooo many medicines are very sensory-unfriendly hey. There's a reason I take all my vitamins in gummy form now!! lol

Aye lack of sleep definitely contributes to worsening of ND traits for me as well!! That and like, you might wanna consider where you are in your monthly cycle, cos the hormone changes also mess with everything!! I feel like I'm always about 30-40% MORE neurodiverse when my period arrives 🤣

Oh nooooo late night impulse buys? The bane of my existence 🙃 Did you end up snagging anything good?

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@Jynx itchy ears are not sensory friendly either. I wear a lot of bamboo clothing to deal with the sensory issues.

We are currently driving to a family friend’s house. So I’m dressed up, I hope these clothes don’t irritate after me some time. The little bells across my forehead feel nice and cool. I am easily amused.

I did end up buying active leggings and tank tops

@creative_writer ohhhh fingers crossed for sensory resilience tonight!!

Love little bells, how cute!! Haha you know, people say to me all the time, 'you're so easily entertained!'

And they say it like it's an insult... but all I can think of is like, 'well, at least I'll never be bored!'

Hope you have a nice evening hun! 😁

@Jynx the bells feel so cool, I just hope it doesn’t feel heavy over time.

I don’t have much to do now I’m here. I’ll probably be on the forums

Oh true @creative_writer lol you just along for the ride?

If they get heavy, will they fit around wrist?

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@Jynx the bells are attached to my hat, I would have to take the hat off and adjust the scarf

Oh true @creative_writer - do you wear a hijab? I can imagine it would definitely be more effort to rearrange if so!!

In response to: Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@Jynx yes, I wear the hijab. I’m holding up okay with the cap. I’m wearing a plain bamboo undercap underneath to make it more comfortable. I think I may have showed you the Pashtun woman cap before that’s worn in Pakistan-Afghanistan. It’s the second day of Eid, that’s why I’m dressed up.

I’m in the car right now going back home. Getting a bit carsick, but I’ll be home in a bit. Migraines don’t hold well in cars 😔. Probably have room for half a dinner once I’m back home
