Hello I'm new here and not sure how this all works. I'm looking for some support i guess. Things have been hectic for me lately and I have been finding it hard to manage my mental health issues. I have a list of mental health diagnoses and other health conditions. I'm isolated and don't have any family or friends. Anyway it would be nice to chat to others and maybe get some support as I'm not sure who to turn to so I can get help.

I must admit, as bad and as tough as it been the past couple of years, it has focused me more than I think I ever have been. Offering support and trying to make it easier for men and their families dealing with what I am now... either now or in the future has just become my sole focus. Whether it's creating a support group, raising awareness, volunteering for studies, workshops, committees.. where ever I can use what I've been through.
I had a workshop tonight run by a researcher from UniSA looking into improving sexual health support for men going through prostate cancer. I was obviously there as a 'consumer', but we went with 'lived experience' instead. But getting to talk to psychologists, researchers, nurses, clinicians was really interesting and they were very interested in my thoughts and I think we came up with some really good ideas to put into a paper that could help improve this area in the near (hopefully) future.
