Re The Weekly Friday Night Feast

Re The Weekly Friday Night Feast

Had a nice roast dinner, not too expensive in the meat department with several veges and a baked rice custard topped off with a small glass of ginger wine. Hope all forum members are having a pleasant evening and wish them all the best for this weekend. Take care, hugs and cheers from Bimby2

That sounds delicious @Bimby2 !

What do you make baked rice custard with? Just normal rice? I ended up having a roast from the local pub on Sunday Night, it even came with baked cauliflower and yorkshire pudding, yuuum

🙂

Re: Re The Weekly Friday Night Feast

Hi Lunar, thank you for your compliments re evening meal last Friday Feast Night. My recipe for baked rice

custard is fairly easy. Have a prebuttered deepish oven proof dish and set the oven temperature at 180%

or 350 F. Add 4 tablespoons of short grain rice, 3 and a half cups of milk, 4 tablespoons of sugar, teaspoon of butter, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence and a sprinkle of nutmeg. Stir ingredients well in oven proof dish

until mixed and cook for 1 to 2 hours until rice is tender, pudding thickened, with a crust on top. Adjust Oven if you need to so as not to burn pudding. It's worth the extra time and effort as delicious taste when eating.

Hope this has been helpful, Lunar and send cheers to you and yours. Bimby2
