Self-Validation

Self-Validation

We often seek validation from people close to us when it's from us that we have to seek validation. Self-validation is essential because it helps us build self-esteem and emotional resilience. By acknowledging our feelings and experiences, we can affirm our worth without relying on external approval. It fosters self-awareness, allowing us to understand and process emotions better. This practice can also promote independence, reducing the need for constant validation from others. Self-validation empowers us to set boundaries and trust our decisions.

Re: Self-Validation

thank you for sharing @heera72 self-validation is definitely an important practice! is there any particular strategies that have helped you self-validate? for me, it's been verbal self-affirmations, keen to hear other strategies!

Re: Self-Validation

@heera72 I just got schooled in self validation an hour ago.

By a horse trainer.

He pushed me enough to provoke the response that he wanted.

Then said “you nailed it”.

Re: Self-Validation

Sometimes, thinking about how far we have come without the emotional support of anyone can actually make us understand that we are the only ones who can better understand ourselves. That might help us more to not expect validation from anyone at all.

Re: Self-Validation

@tyme I was a text conversation about my afternoon in Family Court.

The Horse Trainer provoked my response.
I said “After being emotionally, psychologically, financially abused and physically threatened.

I owe that piece of sh!t absolutely nothing.”
