E - Extraordinary
When I was young, I decided I wanted an Extraordinary life. I didn't want to 'Keep up with the Jones's" nor wanting to be married, didn't want to work an ordinary job working from 9 - 5, didn't want to live in an ordinary house with a white picket fence, with two kids and a cat and a dog.
I thought the most valuable asset is my good health, I wanted to make use of it while I am still young and see the world!
I got married anyway, migrated to the other side of the world to start a better life. had two kids, a cat and a dog, started our own business, walked out of the business and marriage and now I live in an ordinary house and work 8 till 5.
I keep having this dream of living an extraordinary live, meeting new inspiring people and enjoying this beautiful country of my choice.
In reality, my life can be full of dispair, grief, anxiety, depressed moods, sleepless nights.
Then there is the courage my son has, battling Paranoid Scyzophrenia, keeping his appointments with so much resentment, taking his meds like a poison, and trying to care for himself. Forcing himself out of bed, forcing himself to go for his daily walk, forcing himself to pick up the phone. Forcing to face a world that doesnt understand him. This everday courage to get better, can be so uplifting. I give him encouragement, gratitude, optimism, wisdom, faith and the most important of all, love.
This sums up the life of a carer, yes I am living an Extraordinary life....
