Re: Life and trauma

@Till23 I'm glad it was only short but still would have been very scary to go through being young.

It's something I've chosen to keep out of the forums for specific reasons. The only people I have that know everything is my Gp and the person that wrote the support letter for me.

The bedtime routine gets messed up a couple of nights a week due to some activities that happen, every other night I'm in bed at 7.30pm, but I just sit and listen to music, watch my TV show and colour until I'm ready to try to sleep.

I have to remain strong and put on a brave face for others sake. So showing weakness and emotions aren't an option.

I’m glad you have people who know the whole picture @Former-Member

That’s good winding down strategy to listen to music and colour, or watch TV.

One of mine is to take my dog out for a wee 😂.

So these are self- imposed “rules”. So you could not put on the brave face and just feel what you feel?

Remember, to not put more stress on yourself by taking on others problems or expectations, put yourself first. Even if you just try it and see what happens.

Re: Life and trauma

@Till23 i used to have dogs to take out to the toilet but that's another thing I've lost.

It's not self imposed as such. It's hard to explain.

Don't worry I'm good at biting off more than I can chew so to speak. But I'll manage somehow, hopefully.

Re: Life and trauma

Not much. Maybe resting up @Former-Member . Not sure actually. Taking it easy for the weekend. I've got a wedding to attend on Monday, so I want to be well for that.

Re: Life and trauma

Yes I lost one of my dogs in 2023 @Former-Member and my boy won’t be here much longer

Ok, I hope you do manage.

I’ll probably jump off forums shortly and I will be busy all day tomorrow, so I might see you on here tomorrow night.

Re: Life and trauma

Resting up sounds like a good idea @tyme . Hope the wedding goes well on Monday 😊.

Re: Life and trauma

I hope you get a good rest on the weekend @tyme especially to help your recovery from shingles.

I hope it doesn’t become too itchy or painful.

Re: Life and trauma

@Till23 it's so hard to lose them. I've had to put 4 dogs down over the last 5 years so that's taken it's toll on me. 3 of them were due to old age but one was only 3 years old and that one has hit me the hardest, that was March last year so it's almost been a year without her.

Hope your day goes well tomorrow. Might chat to you tomorrow night.
